The city of Boardman has, for example, no- tified people that city water is safe for drink- ing. It has posted this information on a sign near city hall: “The city’s water is safe to drink,” it states. City Manager Karen Pettigrew supported the sign’s message with a press release. “Different than their rural neighbors, city of Boardman residents receive safe and depend- Erick Peterson/Hermiston Herald able water supplied from local aquifers,” the A city sign on June 24, 2022, tells the public that press release explains.
