Main St., Stanfield, is upset over his neighbor, who he de- scribed as “being a fruit loop,” stating “she is moving her items into the middle of the trailer park and act- ing crazy again.” Police responded. The sheriff’s office is inves- tigating. 8:47 a.m. — Hermiston police received a report of a burglary on Southeast Fourth Street. 9:11 a.m. — Hermiston police responded to a report of an assault on West Harper Road. 12:10 p.m. — A caller reported there were two mal- nourished kittens on East Fairview Way, Heppner. Morrow County Sheriff’s Office contacted the caller and provided options. 1:22 p.m. — Stanfield police responded to South Main Street, on a report of a domestic disturbance. 2:49 p.m. — A resident on Southeast Wyoming Ave- nue, Irrigon, reported a male interested in buying his Honda Accord gave a $50 down payment and took it for a test drive. But the would-be buyer has not re- turned with the car or the rest of the money. 3:08 p.m. — A caller on Southeast Green Street, Hep- pner, reported her parents “put their hands” on her. A Morrow County sheriff’s deputy responded, and the subject opted to stay with other relatives. 3:10 p.m. — Hermiston police took a report for graf- fiti on Southwest Seventh Place. 5:58 p.m. — Umatilla County sheriff’s deputies re- sponded to North Townsend Road, Hermiston, on a report of a domestic disturbance. 10:22 p.m. — A 911 caller at Green Acres RV Park, 80542 Paterson Ferry Road, Irrigon, reported a male tried to pull a female out of a trailer by her hair. SATURDAY, JUNE 4 10:47 a.m. — A 911 caller on Apple Court, Umatilla, reported a domestic disturbance. Umatilla police re- sponded. 7:02 p.m. — A Morrow County sheriff’s deputy re- ceived a text message about a Heppner resident who was threatening self harm. Local emergency services responded, and an ambulance took the person to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston. 9:21 p.m. — Umatilla County sheriff’s deputies re- sponded to Vincent Lane, Hermiston, on a report of a domestic disturbance involving a 14-year-old tearing up a back bedroom. 9:33 p.m. — Hermiston police received a report of child abuse/neglect. 10:06 p.m. — A caller on Kunze Lane, Boardman, complained about a nearby loud party. Morrow County Sheriff’s Office contacted the party, which turned down the music. SUNDAY, JUNE 5 6 a.m. — Boardman police received a report of child abuse or neglect. 11:28 a.m. — A caller made a complaint about loud music playing for more than an hour near the Irrigon Jr./Sr. High School, 315 S.E. Wyoming Ave., Irrigon. A Morrow County deputy checked the area and heard only faint music. 4 p.m. — A caller on Hemlock Court, Umatilla, re- ported hearing gunshots. Umatilla police responded. 5:07 p.m. — A caller at Irrigon Park & Marina, 510 N.E. Seventh St., reported she and others observed a do- mestic fight but no one still was at the scene. A Mor- row County sheriff’s deputy took a report. 11:26 p.m. — A resident on Mount Adams Avenue, Boardman, reported gunshots at a neighbor’s resi- dence. 11:34 p.m. — A caller on West Joseph Avenue, Herm- iston, reported loud music from a residence and would like it turned down. 11:45 p.m. — A resident on Columbia Lane, Irrigon, asked the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office to send a patrol to her area because a dark colored van with three males inside was parked in front of her house and this was not the first time. MONDAY, JUNE 6 9:20 a.m. — A caller reported a red and white Jet Ranger helicopter flew over his property on Little Butter Creek Road, Heppner, “getting his cattle stirred up.” He also said he called the Oregon Fish and Wild- life Commission and Oregon State Police. He said the helicopter flew east toward Pilot Rock. 9:39 a.m. — Hermiston police responded to a call about a burglary on the 600 block of South First Street. Police took a report. 12:58 p.m. — A caller reported cows and calves were coming out of a break in a fence at Depot Lane and West Eighth Road, Irrigon. Morrow County Sheriff’s Office responded but did not find the cattle. 3:31 p.m. — Stanfield police responded to Blanken- ship Drive to help with a cat stuck in a car engine. 3:41 p.m. — Umatilla police responded to Clara Brownell Middle School, 1300 Seventh St., on a report of harassment. 3:41 p.m. — Umatilla County sheriff’s deputies re- sponded to East Jennie Avenue, Hermiston, on a re- port of a domestic disturbance. 3:51 p.m. — Columbia Basin Electric Cooperative, Heppner, reported someone has been shooting at the insulators on the pole for the electrical wires at two locations. Morrow County Sheriff’s Office re- sponded. 6:32 p.m. — A resident on Southeast 11th Street, Irri- gon, reported the theft of two gallon gas tanks from his property. One was empty, he said, and the other half filled with water. 7:25 p.m. — Emergency services responded to Main Street South and Wilson Road Southwest, Boardman, for a two-vehicle crash. Morrow County Sheriff’s Of- fice cited Adrian Mendoza Garcia for failure to obey a traffic control device and unlawful use of a cellphone. 11:48 p.m. — A resident on Southeast Utah Avenue, Irrigon, reported hearing a female screaming “don’t touch me, get off me” at a nearby house. ARRESTS, CITATIONS JUNE 1 • Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Diego An- tonio Hill, 32, for driving under the influence of intox- icants. JUNE 4 • Boardman police arrested Devon Margaret Ruther- ford, 42, for possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, aggravated assault, assaulting a public safety officer, first-degree theft and on warrants. • Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested David Mi- chael Grogan, 41, for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, reckless endangering and hit-and-run involving property. JUNE 5 • Boardman police at 2:24 p.m. received a call about a male who entered a residence on Southwest Eagle Drive uninvited and was not supposed to be there. Police responded and arrested Logan Decoursey, 25, for first-degree burglary and unauthorized entry into a vehicle. • Oregon State Police arrested McKendra Rose Blue Thunder, 18, for DUII and reckless endangering. Commissioners approve Rock It quarry expansion BY JOHN TILLMAN Hermiston Herald Umatilla County commis- sioners at the June 1 board meeting approved a request to expand a Hermiston-area rock quarry. Quarry owner Wade Aylett requested to expand a pre- viously approved aggregate quarry, Rock It No. 2. He also asked to add the site to the Umatilla County Comprehen- sive Plan list of Goal 5 pro- tected significant sites. Broad statewide planning Goal 5 covers more than a dozen resources, including wildlife habitat, historic places and gravel mines. To protect and plan for them, the Oregon Department of Land Conser- vation and Development asks local governments to create a number of inventories. Aylett requested to apply an aggregate resource overlay zone to the entire quarry site, as well. The property site consists of COURTS eight tax lots just southeast of the Interstate 82 and Interstate 84 interchange near Hermis- ton. The site covers approxi- mately 140 acres, zoned Exclu- sive Farm Use. No one spoke in opposition to the requests. The Umatilla County Plan- ning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the requests. All county commis- sioners voted in favor of Rock It No. 2’s application. BIRTHS SENTENCES The following criminal sentences have been imposed in Umatilla County Circuit Court: Diego Antonio Hill, 32, of Umatilla, pleaded guilty to a 2022 charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants; sentenced to 10 days in the Umatilla County Jail, two years of probation and a fine of $1,250.
