DEATH NOTICES
TUESDAY, APRIL 26
Morrow County Sheriff ’s Offi ce responded and found the dog.
8:51 a.m. — Umatilla police took a report of graffi ti at Sixth Street
and Umatilla River Road.
10:24 a.m. — Hermiston police responded to East Main Street on
a report of harassment.
10:47 a.m. — A man came into the Hermiston Police Department,
330 S. First St., wanting to know of any resources available for
his son who does not want to work and continues to steal in
town. He stated he knows his son’s girlfriend sends him to steal.
He is concerned, knows he needs help and not sure what to do
anymore. Police advised him.
11:55 a.m. — A woman told Umatilla police her grandson just
destroyed her trailer on Oxbow Lane.
2:46 p.m. — A caller at Gun Club Lane and Ordnance Road,
Hermiston, reported about 100 cattle were starving and at least
two were dead in a feedlot on the westbound side of Interstate
82 just before Morrow County.
4:32 p.m. — Umatilla County sheriff ’s deputies responded to
Stateline Community Church, 85440 Highway 11, Milton-Freewa-
ter, on report of a female causing a domestic disturbance.
5:59 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to Northwest 11th
Street for an assault.
SUNDAY, MAY 1
Walla Walla
Dec. 18, 1945 — April 24, 2022
11:40 a.m. — Umatilla police responded to Third Street, Umatilla,
on a report of harassment.
1:22 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to the 900 block of East
Newport Avenue on a report of a burglary.
2:49 p.m. — An ambulance responded to Love’s Travel Stop,
78665 Tower Road, Boardman, for a 50-year-old man who
slipped, fell and injured his back. The ambulance took the man to
Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston.
2:51 p.m. — Emergency services responded to Castle Rock
Apartments, 451 Tatone St., Boardman, for a 22-year-old man
who asked what to do about waking up and not remembering.
An ambulance took the man to Good Shepherd Medical Center,
Hermiston.
4:16 p.m. — A caller at the rest area on the westbound side of
Interstate 84 near Boardman reported a juvenile Black girl and a
white man who appeared to be in his 50s got out of a truck and
walked away from everyone in the parking lot. The caller said
the juvenile appeared to be uncomfortable with the man. The
Morrow County Sheriff ’s Offi ce checked the area but did not fi nd
anything suspicious.
6:45 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to Southwest Ninth
Street for a domestic disturbance after receiving a report of a
male and female physically fi ghting at this location.
7:56 p.m. — Umatilla police responded to Van Buren Drive on a
report of harassment.
8:49 p.m. — A caller on North Loop Road, Stanfi eld, reported a
domestic disturbance.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27
7:38 a.m. — Umatilla police responded to Sloan Avenue for a
verbal domestic disturbance.
10:53 a.m. — Umatilla County sheriff ’s deputies responded to
Highway 395, Hermiston, on a report of a domestic disturbance.
11:42 a.m. — A resident on Linden Way, Heppner, reported
someone smashed the heating unit at her home, broke off the
concrete pad and left a tire mark on the side of the house.
2:20 p.m. — A Hermiston mother told police she wanted to speak
to an offi cer about information her daughter was exchanging
with someone via a phone app.
3:05 p.m. — Umatilla police responded to Umatilla High School,
1400 Seventh St., after receiving a report of fi ghting in the
streets.
MONDAY, MAY 2
12:08 a.m. — A caller on West Oregon Lane, Irrigon, reported
hearing 10 gunshots. Local law enforcement and Oregon State
Police responded and did not fi nd anything suspicious or related
to a shooting.
12:52 p.m. — The Morrow County Sheriff ’s Offi ce took a report for
the theft of a vehicle within the last week from East Third Street,
Ione.
3:02 p.m. — Umatilla police responded to Third Street on a report
of harassment.
5:10 p.m. — A caller reported the theft of his black trailer that
was at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 78922 Olson
Road, Boardman. He said the theft may have happened April 27
or 28.
7:11 p.m. — Umatilla police responded to County Club Manor
Apartments, 605 Umatilla Ave., for a domestic disturbance.
8:14 p.m. — A caller reporting fi nding an injured baby owl on the
side of East Highway 720, Irrigon. The Morrow County Sheriff ’s
Offi ce responded.
8:41 p.m. — Stanfi eld police responded to North Thielsen Street,
Echo, for a domestic disturbance.
THURSDAY, APRIL 28
6:04 a.m. — Hermiston police responded to Southwest Ninth
Street for a 911 call about a domestic disturbance.
10:08 a.m. — Hermiston police responded to West Highland
Avenue on a report of a fi ght.
10:56 a.m. — A caller on Costanza Avenue, Umatilla, reported
there is a white husky mix running loose in the area.
4:26 p.m. — Stanfi eld police responded to the Food Basket, 405
N. Sherman St., after receiving a theft complaint.
6:44 p.m. — A 911 caller at Tyler Avenue and Powerline Road,
Umatilla, reported hearing gunshots.
FRIDAY, APRIL 29
1:49 p.m. — A resident on Tyler Road, Boardman, reported his
neighbor’s cows were in his pasture and damaged his fence. He
said this is an ongoing issue.
8:08 p.m. — A resident on Southeast Cannon Street, Heppner,
called the Morrow County Sheriff ’s Offi ce to request fi ling a miss-
ing person report on her daughter. The sheriff ’s offi ce responded.
ARRESTS, CITATIONS
April 27
• Oregon State Police arrested Tanner Logan Turner, 22, for
menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, unauthorized entry into a
vehicle, vehicle theft and fi rst-degree theft.
April 29
• Boardman police arrested Sergio Lopez Antonio, 28, for driving
under the infl uence of intoxicants and fi ve counts of hit-and-run
involving property.
• Umatilla County Sheriff ’s Offi ce arrested Kash Michael Leon, 31,
for second-degree burglary and vehicle theft.
April 30
• Umatilla County Sheriff ’s Offi ce arrested Markus Paul Davis,
20, for hit-and-run involving property and a felony probation
violation.
• Hermiston police arrested Gage Darrell Woods, 23, for menac-
ing, felon in possession of a weapon and fi rst-degree theft.
SATURDAY, APRIL 30
8:03 a.m. — A caller on Diablo Court, Umatilla, reported a domes-
tic disturbance. Police responded.
8:28 a.m. — Irrigon Rural Fire Protection District conducted a fi re
hydrant test at the fi re station, 500 N.E. Main Ave., Irrigon.
1:59 p.m. — Stanfi eld police responded to Stanfi eld City Hall, 160
S. Main St., for a burglary.
3:10 p.m. — Umatilla County sheriff ’s deputies responded to
North Water Street, Weston, for a theft complaint.
5:58 p.m. — A caller reported he was loading up furniture on the
300 block of East Main Street, Lexington, when someone a block
over on Arcade Street called his dog and left in a vehicle. The

Sentences
The following criminal sentences
have been imposed in Umatilla
County Circuit Court:
Ernest Anders Holmes, 59, of Ken-
newick, pleaded guilty to a 2019
charge of unauthorized use of a vehi-
cle; sentenced to one year, six months
incarceration with the Oregon Depart-
ment of Corrections with credit for
time served.
William Aaron Smith, 43, of Pend-
leton, pleaded guilty to a 2021 charge
of unlawful use of a weapon; sentenced
to two years, six months in the Oregon
Department of Corrections, with credit
for time served, and two years, four
months of post-prison supervision.
Erik Estrada, 43, of Pendleton,
pleaded guilty to a 2022 charge of felon
in possession of a fi rearm; sentenced to
two years, one month in the Oregon
Department of Corrections, with credit
for time served, and two years post-
prison supervision.

1 p.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 855 W.
Highland Ave., Hermiston. Burial will follow at the

Kathleen Kononen Comstock

Kathleen Ann Comstock, 70, of Pendleton, died April
4, 2021, at Wallowa Lake. She was born Aug. 4, 1950, in
Pendleton. A memorial will be May 7, 11 a.m. at Olney

Carter E. Engum

Longtime Stanfi eld resident Carter E. Engum died
April 16, 2022, at Providence Milwaukie Hospital. He
was born June 8, 1951, in Wallace, Idaho, the son of
James J. Engum and Ruth M. Engum. A small celebra-
tion of life gathering for family and close friends will be
held at a later date. Arrangements are with Stehn Family
