Umatilla police responded. 8:21 a.m. — Umatilla County sheriff ’s deputies responded to a robbery on Cactus Drive, Hermiston. 8:42 a.m. — A 911 caller on Wanapa Road, Umatilla, reported there is a large dog that was injured. Umatilla police were unable to locate the dog. 9:12 a.m. — Union Pacifi c Railroad notifi ed the Umatilla County Sheriff ’s Offi ce of a train derailment at Hinkle Yard, Stanfi eld, and emergency agencies did not need to respond. 12:16 p.m. — A 911 caller on Highway 730, Umatilla, reported a domestic disturbance. Umatilla County sheriff ’s deputies responded and took a report. 5:31 p.m. — A resident at Green Acres RV Park, 80542 Paterson Ferry Road, Irrigon, reported his 13-year-old daughter “ran off again” after being rude, disrespectful and not wanting to do chores. A Morrow County sheriff ’s sergeant responded and contacted both parties. 11:23 p.m. — An Irrigon resident on Brace Road reported a male stole her phone and all the contents of her purse. She said she would be at a neighbor’s house. The Morrow County Sheriff ’s Offi ce responded and took a report. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 30 6:46 a.m. — Umatilla police responded to a report of theft at the Country Club Manor Apartments on Umatilla Avenue. 1:31 p.m. — A caller at Powerline Road and Stephens Avenue, Umatilla, reported he caught two dogs that were loose. 1:58 p.m. — A 911 caller at Highway 730 and Scaplehorn Road, Umatilla, reported there were several chunks of metal in the right lane causing a traffi c hazard. Umatilla police cleared the road. 2:41 p.m. — A caller at Tri-Harbor Landing Apartments, 210 Klickitat St., Umatilla, requested to speak with an offi cer regard- ing being defrauded of almost $1,000. THURSDAY, MARCH 31 6:49 a.m. — A property owner reported a gate was broken off his cattle guard in the area of Willow Creek and Blake Ranch roads, Heppner. The Morrow County Sheriff ’s Offi ce is investi- gating. 9:55 a.m. — A 911 caller on Union Street, Hermiston, report- ed there is a male in the road accosting her customers. Law enforcement responded. 11:09 a.m. — A 911 caller on Coppinger Lane, Echo, reported a burglary. Stanfi eld police responded and took a report. 12:01 p.m. — A caller on South First Street, Hermiston, stat- ed he wanted to know what can be done about high school students parking in their parking lot. He said for about a month now high school students will park in their lot, his staff has asked them not to park there, as parents will not be able to park to drop off and pick up their children. The caller asked if Herm- iston police could check out the area when school is over. 3:23 p.m. — The manager at Econo Lodge, 1481 Sixth St., Uma- tilla, requested police to tell several men in the back to move along or be trespassed. Umatilla police responded. 6:37 p.m. — A 911 caller on North Townsend Road, Hermiston, reported she could hear a woman in a domestic violence situ- ation with her ex-boyfriend. The caller stated the ex-boyfriend drives a dark gray Chevrolet pickup. Umatilla County sheriff ’s deputies responded. North First Street for a fi ght in a parking lot. 1:08 p.m. — A resident in the area of the 200 block of Southeast Park Place, Irrigon, reported a very loud noise was coming from a nearby house and asked the Morrow County Sheriff ’s Offi ce to send someone to have the occupants turn it down. 3:06 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to the 700 block of East View Drive on a report of a burglary. Police took a report. SATURDAY, APRIL 2 1:18 a.m. — Emergency agencies responded to Hermiston Raceway, 81236 Highway 395, Hermiston, after a gray sedan crashed and fl ipped upside down. The driver was out of the vehicle when agencies fi rst arrived. 1:59 a.m. — A resident on West Fourth Road, Irrigon, called 911 and reported a male in a gray hooded sweatshirt was on her porch. Local law enforcement responded. 2 a.m. — A 911 caller at Westland and Lamb roads, Hermis- ton, reported a car crash with injuries. Emergency agencies responded. 7:21 a.m. — A dog attack occurred on South Edwards Road, Hermiston. Law enforcement responded. 7:44 a.m. — A caller on Homestead Lane, Boardman, reported someone cut the locks off his gate and stole fuel. 12:07 p.m. — A caller reported two dogs on West Eighth Road, Irrigon, killed chickens and chased cows, and security cameras caught them. 4:44 p.m. — Umatilla police responded to a theft complaint at Umatilla Liquor Store, 1508 Sixth St. 7:18 p.m. — A caller at Driftwood RV Resort, 800 W. Kunze Lane, Boardman, reported a male was beating on something in the men’s restroom and bothering tenants in the hot tub. Share memories at www.burnsmortua- ryhermiston.com. Robert James Powell December 14, 1934 - December 18, 2021 Robert James Powell, 87, died Dec. 18, 2021, in Richland, Washington. Robert was born Dec. 14, 1934, to Vernis "Mike" and Eunice Powell in Drain, Oregon. The first of three children, Bob spent his early years in the towns of McKenzie, Riddle and Tiller, Oregon. In 1949, the family moved to Homedale where he attended Homedale High School, graduating in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army, before buying a farm outside Adrian, Oregon. Bob married Wilma Austin in 1961. They made their home in Adrian with their five children, Jan Herndon (d. Gene), Hermiston, Oregon; Linda Wilcox (m. Raymond), Pilot Rock, Oregon; Lori Pruitte (m. Mike) Kennewick, Washington; Michael (m. Kim) Tillamook, Oregon; and Paul of Seattle Washington. In 1979, they moved to Umatilla, Oregon, where Bob worked in agricultural products, especially in the development of feed pellets. After retiring several times, Bob finally perfected it. He spent his time with the people and things he loved best: his family, his garden and most of all fishing. In addition to his wife and children, Bob is survived by two sisters, Bonita Huff of Bruneau, Idaho, and Marilyn Powell of Gaithersburg, Maryland; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A committal of ashes will be held Friday, April 8, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Wilder Cemetery, Idaho. Immediately following the service there will be a celebration of life for friends and family at the Homedale Bowling Alley.
