A new roster of classes starts soon at Crossroads

AKER CITY — Crossroads
Carnegie Art Center has
released its spring schedule of
classes, including a clog class,
ballet and special off erings
during spring break. A complete
list is available at www.cross-
roads-arts.org, which is also the
place to register. Or stop by the
art center, 2020 Auburn Ave.,
Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Here’s a look at classes that
start soon.
SPRING BREAK ART CAMP
A mini art camp is planned
for March 21-23, 8:30 a.m.-noon
each day. This is for ages 8-12.
Cost is $25 members, $37.50
nonmembers.
BEGINNING CLOG DANCE
This class, for ages 8 and older,
will be led by Lisa Jo Frech. No
prior experience is necessary. It
runs from March 28 to May 16 and
meets Mondays, 5-6 p.m. Cost is
$64 members, $96 nonmembers.
BALLET
Debbie Friedman off ers vari-
ous levels of this dance class.
Cost for each session is $64
members, $96 nonmembers.

Ballet II, for ages 6-8, meets

18, 4-5 p.m.
Ballet III, for dancers age 9
and older, meets Thursdays,
March 31 to May 19, 4-5 p.m.
BEGINNING KUMIHIMO
WHEEL THROWING
Intermediate students can
learn about throwing, trimming,
slip decorating with stencils
and glazing in a three-part class
led by Debbie Penning. Classes
meet March 30, April 6 and April

31, 6-8 p.m. For ages 12 and

TOOTHBRUSH RUGS
Learn a fast, simple way to
make an interlocking braided
rug in this class led by Gayle
Poe. Meets April 7 and April 14,
6-8 p.m. Cost is $32 members,
$48 nonmembers.
PUDDLE JUMPING RELIEF
Explore abstract expression-
ism in this class with Andrew
Gettle. It meets April 16 and April
23, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. For ages 15
and older. Cost is $48 members,
$72 nonmembers.
CREATIVE USE OF COLOR
Learn how color selections
make dynamic paintings in this
course with Brian Vegter. It
meets Tuesdays, May 3 to June
8, 5:30-7:30 p.m. For ages 15
and older, beginner to experi-
enced. Cost is $175 members,
$262.50 nonmembers.
