CROSSROADS CARNEGIE ART CENTER Royal Artisan/Contributed image Royal Artisan will feature work by San Francisco artist Laura La Foret Lengyel, beginning with an opening reception on Friday, Jan. 7. 2020 Auburn Ave. The annual Student Art Show will be held in the upstairs gal- lery at Crossroads Carnegie Art Center, beginning with a recep- tion during First Friday, 5:30- 8 p.m. The show runs through Jan. 28 and features work by Baker High School art students. Alyson Spiering, commu- nity art director, said the work includes “a unique take on the concept of a self-portrait, paired with a linguistic explanation of their personal interpretation, 3D ceramic pieces that will include a ‘hybrid species’ project, water- color work and even jewelry.” Crossroads is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. To learn more, visit www.cross- roads-arts.org or the center’s page on Facebook. ROYAL ARTISAN 1912 Main St. Royal Artisan will be showing a retrospective of paintings and sculptures by San Francisco artist Laura La Foret Lengyel. SUNN JUICE + DECOR 1917 Main St. Sunn will stay open late for First Friday and feature works by painter Mary Davies Kerns. SWEET WIFE BAKING 2028 Main St. The Two Drink Minimum Art Gallery inside Sweet Wife Baking will present “The Magnifi cent Frigate Bird,” a show by Dale Beatty. Featuring his tropical soulmate in two dimensions, this show is a departure from his three-dimensional folk art. BAKER HERITAGE MUSEUM Every month, the Baker Heri- tage Museum is having a pop-up exhibit at a downtown location. January’s display of typewriters will be at Betty’s Books, 1813 Main St., during the art walk.
