4 SEPTEMBER 8–15, 2021 MIXED MEDIUM THE ARTS AROUND EASTERN OREGON Art Center East presents ‘Wall Paper’ Show by Addie DeLong opens Sept. 10 Go! staff L A GRANDE — Work by Bend- based artist Addie DeLong is the new featured exhibit in the main gallery at Art Center East, 1006 Penn Ave. “Wall Paper” will be on display from Sept. 10 to Oct. 23. A digi- tal artist talk and virtual exhibit Courtesy of the artist tour will be available at www. artcentereast.org. According to a press release, DeLong’s work explores how col- or can express the passing of time and capture a memory. Inspired by the soft pinks and pastels of the homes of DeLong’s parents and grandparents, this series of work is infused with nostalgia. DeLong has a bachelor’s degree in fine art and business from Eastern Oregon University. She uses acrylic paint and paper to bring her ideas to fruition. “As a kid, paper was widely accessible and had ties to handwritten notes, letters, the calendar my mom wrote all of our activities on: the documents of our lives. It also, of course, has a resemblance to wall paper,” DeLong said. Find out more about this event and others at www.art- centereast.org.
