For this yearly show, 55 art- ists created work on panels that measure 8 inches square. The artwork is then divided between galleries and priced at $40 each. If you have a favorite artist, it takes some sleuthing at every location to fi nd the work you want. A percentage of the sales benefi t local nonprofi t organiza- tions. The Little Big Show opens at 5:30 p.m. at Churchill Hall Pass Gallery, 3451 Broadway St., Crossroads Carnegie Art Center, 2020 Auburn Ave., Royal Artisan, 1912 Main St., The Cheese Fairy, 1937 Main St., and White House Art & Design Company, 1829 Main St. The artwork will be on display “Electric Toucan” by Sherri Linne- meyer at these locations throughout August. An artist talk is set for 5:30 p.m. Formally educated with a degree in fi ne art, VanGaasbeck brings together a partnership of glass and refl ective metal in her oil paintings of manmade ob- jects. Her passion for art began as a young child. She specializes in portraiture in charcoal and oil paint, but also sculpts in clay and beeswax. She teaches oil paint- ing classes at Crossroads. Her opening reception will be Friday, Aug. 6, from 5:30–8 p.m. CROSSROADS In addition to The Little Big Show, Crossroads Carnegie Art Center will open “Refl ections,” featuring fi ne artist Amy Van- Gaasbeck and photographer Slade Elbert, on Friday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m.–8 p.m. The center is located at 2020 Auburn Ave. Visitors can enter to win a $25 gift card to the Eltrym Theater (donated by Mike and Barbara Meyer) and hear music by guitar- Paintings by Amy VanGaasbeck will be featured at Crossroads, along with photographs by Slade Elbert.
