reported on Southwest 11th Street.
5:57 a.m. — A disturbance was reported on North First Street.
11:04 a.m. — A hit-and-run from late the previous night was
reported on North First Street.
1:15 p.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on East
Montana Avenue.
1:50 p.m. — A case of child abuse or neglect was reported on
Southeast Fourth Street.
4:27 p.m. — A vehicle theft was reported on North First
Street. The caller reported they just noticed it was missing
today but it may have been gone for as long as a month.
6:31 p.m. — A possible drunken driver was reported on North
First Street.
10:09 p.m. — An assault was reported on North First Street.

9:47 a.m. — A woman reported that while she was working
the previous Saturday, someone stole her Social Security card
out of her purse.
12:42 p.m. — A caller reported that her “grandson” had called
stating he was in the hospital and needed $6,000 before he
could go home because mouthwash had caused him to fail
a Breathalyzer test. After going to the bank to deposit the
money in an account, the caller called her grandson’s cell
phone number and realized it was not her grandson she had
spoken to previously and it was a scam.
5:27 p.m. — An assault was reported on Southwest 16th Place.
7:33 p.m. — A motor vehicle accident was reported on North
First Street.
10:37 p.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on
Northwest Third Street.
THURSDAY, MARCH 4
9:31 a.m. — A vehicle theft was reported on Southeast
Fourth Street.
10:31 a.m. — A burglary was reported on West Orchard
Avenue that had taken place more than a week prior and
included the theft of firearms and electronic equipment.
3 p.m. — A disturbance was reported on Northwest Eucalyp-
tus Drive.
3:23 p.m. — A motor vehicle accident was reported on North-
east 10th Street.
3:44 p.m. — A disturbance was reported on Northeast Fourth
Street.
4:47 p.m. — A disturbance involving a group of people that
“kept trying to fight with each other” was reported on West
Catherine Avenue.
6:31 p.m. — A noninjury motor vehicle accident was reported
on South Highway 395.
6:54 p.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on South-
east Sixth Street.
7:16 p.m. — A vehicle theft was reported on East Beebe Avenue.

1:56 p.m. — Police took a report that a scammer had broken
into their email and posed as a contractor to get $65,000 to
complete a contract.
2:57 p.m. — A motor vehicle accident was reported on South
Highway 395.
4:50 p.m. — A caller reported a hit-and-run from a previous
day where a driver on North First Street rear-ended their
vehicle and took off.
6:59 p.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on North-
east Fourth Place.
8 p.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on Northwest
Dawn Drive.
10:25 p.m. — A fight was reported on Southwest 11th Street
and participants were cited and released.

1:28 a.m. — A caller reported a disturbance on South First
Street that “sounded like a lot of people” in a physical fight.
8:53 p.m. — A drunken driver was reported on South High-
way 395.

10:45 a.m. — A motor vehicle accident was reported at
Hermiston Police Department.
3:27 p.m. — Child abuse or neglect was reported on South-
west 11th Street.
3:53 p.m. — A vehicle theft was reported on North First Street.
7:08 p.m. — An assault was reported on West Madrona Ave-
nue.
11:23 p.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on East
Montana Avenue.

10:37 a.m. — A hit-and-run was reported on North First
Street, and the caller stated a witness saw it happen and left
a note.
10:40 a.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on South-
west 11th Street.
3:09 p.m. — A domestic disturbance involving teenage
brothers fighting was reported on Southwest 11th Street.
3:54 p.m. — A resident of Northeast Fifth Street reported she
came home and discovered someone had left drug para-
phernalia in her garage.
6:28 p.m. — A vehicle theft was reported on West Ridgeway
Avenue.
8:44 p.m. — A disturbance was reported on West Hermiston
Avenue.

Oregon State Police are
once again asking the pub-
lic for help in an unsolved
hit-and-run in Hermiston
that took the life of Anto-
nia Cobarubias, 41.
Cobarubias was struck
and killed on Aug. 31,
2019, at approximately
2:30 a.m. on North High-
way 395.
According to Oregon
State Police, the suspect
vehicle is likely a red Acura
Integra from between 1994
and 2001 with aftermarket
features.

Ag entrepreneur award seeking applicants
The board of the John Walchli Ag Entrepreneur
Award is seeking applicants for the annual award.
Applicants must be 25 years old or younger and be
engaged in agriculture, either directly or in an agricul-
ture-related field. This is a cash award based on entre-
preneurship and may be used at the discretion of the
recipient.
The award is given annually to remember and
honor John Walchli, who was a life-long farmer. He
was an innovative, honest, fair and generous supporter
of community projects as well as an agricultural entre-
preneur, according to the descriptor of the award.
Applications are available from school counselors
or agriculture teachers in all schools in west Umatilla
County, or from board members Mike Mehren at 541-
561-4762 or Chuck Wilcox at 541-571-2523.
Applications are due no later than April 10, 2021,
