Missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-
day Saints volunteered their time on Tuesday putting
up lights and decorations for the downtown Hermiston
tree lighting event taking place Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
next to Hermiston City Hall. The missionaries said that
people who are looking for service opportunities of
their own throughout the Christmas season can visit
www.lighttheworld.org. The website, created by their
church, suggests daily service ideas for the month of
December (Tuesday’s was giving blood) and provides
holiday materials such as a nativity video.
