RECOGNITION
Fair Board Chairman Lucas Wagner served as
the evening’s emcee and honored Don Miller,
his wife Linda along with Gay Newman with
his wife Alice, for their many, many years of
service, as they stepped down from the
Umatilla County Fair Board.
Miguel Velasco, of Velasco Used Cars
received the Business Partnership Award for
his responsibility for the ever growing
success of the fair’s Latino Night.
At the 2018 Umatilla County Fair Appreciation Dinner this past
January, the Fair Board thanked all of the 2018 fair sponsors, current
and previous fair superintendents, previous award winners, past grand
marshals, past board members, past fair court, ambassadors and
chaperones and all who volunteered or contributed in any way.
The honor of 2019 Umatilla County Fair Grand
Marshal was given to Dan and Terri Dorran.
Dan served on the Umatilla County Fair Board
for over 16 years and he, Terri and the entire
Dorran family has made it their life’s mission to
support fair and rodeo, 4-H and FFA
Steve Wallace of Western Ag Improvement was
given a Special Recognition plaque for his
donation of time and materials over the years,
to improve the fairgrounds and for providing
many necessary pieces to ensure the success of
the Umatilla County Fair.
David Fesler and Terrie Dennis were named Fair Volunteers of
the year for 2018 due to their commitment and dedication to
the entire production of the fair and their involvement with the
county’s young exhibitors.

Fair Coordinator Angie McNalley closed the program by thanking the volunteers and sponsors and recog nizing the Fair Board and their
families for helping her fulfill her duties, calling them the “hardest working volunteer employees a round.”
