Raised in Corvallis, Oregon, Jackson Michelson kicked off his country career on the West Coast, carving out a sound that blended the rootsy twang of the American South with the sunny, feel-good spirit of the Pacific Coast. By the time he moved to Nashville, he'd already spent years on the road, playing in bands back at home. Now, with a record deal under his belt, Michelson is prepping for the next phase of his career. There are new shows to play, new songs to be written and new opportunities to explore. But he's still the boy from Corvallis, happy to sing. The Georgia Satellites | Thur. Aug. 8, 2019 | 9:00 PM (LOCAL BAND-BLUE TATTOO WILL TAKE THE STAGE TO START THE PARTY AT 7:15 P.M. ) Founded in 1985 by Rick Richards, Rick Price, singer Dan Baird and drummer Mauro Magellan, the Satellites quickly launched into stardom with hits like “Keep Your Hands to Yourself,” “Battleship Chains”, “Can’t Stand the Pain”, “Hippy Hippy Shake”, and others. The Georgia Satellites were one of the most ferocious bands of the 1980’s. What set them apart from the other 10,000 groups that cranked their amps to 11, was that their wild riffs and tanked cries came from a quartet that understood it’s place in rock tradition and fought hard to solidify it with each recording. Critically acclaimed albums and mind- bending performances earned the boys a permanent spot in music history. Friday Aug. 9, 2019 LATINO NIGHT DANCE Beginning at 7:00 PM Sat.
