Diaz Martin was not wearing his seatbelt, according to state police, and the crash ejected him from the vehicle. He was dead when troopers arrived. The passenger, Tashina Mautmolis Bettles, 28, of Wapato, Washington, also was not wearing her seat- belt. She suffered non-life threatening injuries, accord- ing to state police, and a helicopter ambulance fl ew her to Kadlec Regional Medical Center, Richland, Washington. State police also reported alcohol and the speed of the vehicle may have been fac- tors in the crash. HERMISTON HERALD UMATILLA — Oregon State Police reported the semi driver who died Friday night in a crash near Umatilla was not wearing a seatbelt. State police troopers and other emergency person- nel responded to the report of a single semi crash at approximately 9:40 p.m. on Interstate 82 near mile- post 10. State police on Monday reported Domingo Diaz Martin, 57, of Yakima, Washington, was driving the tractor-trailer east on Inter- state 82 when he took the off ramp to merge onto I-84 eastbound. He did not navigate the curve and the semi drifted off UCSO arrests four people in stolen vehicle investigation could also smell fresh paint on the car. Upon checking law enforcement databases, he confi rmed the vehicle was stolen, and was supposed to be a white car, not red. As Westmoreland was waiting for another deputy to show up, Walker started coming toward the car. Westmore- land is familiar with Walker, and knew he had an out- standing felony warrant for his arrest. He told Walker to stop and placed him under arrest. The deputies found that Walker had red paint on his clothing and a key that started the stolen car. Several parole and pro- bation offi cers arrived at the scene, as well as an Oregon State Police offi - cer and a Hermiston Police offi cer. Within a few min- utes, Ramos arrived at the scene. Offi cers recognized him as having a warrant, and arrested him. They also found and arrested Sanders and Huxoll, who were in the area. HERMISTON HERALD The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Offi ce, along with the help of Community Cor- rections, arrested four people in Hermiston on April 9, on several felony warrants and for stolen vehicle charges. Frank Jessie Walker, 39, was arrested on a felony warrant. Alexis Jose Ramos, 27, Codey Allen Sanders, 24, and Olivia Michelle Huxoll, 28, were all arrested shortly after on felony warrants or for parole or probation viola- tions. All four were taken to the Umatilla County Jail. On Tuesday, UCSO Detective Loren Westmore- land was patrolling the area near East Punkin Center road and North Ott Road, when he noticed an unoccupied red Honda Civic parked on the road. He checked the license plates, which were registered to a Mercedes, noted that the front and rear license plates were different, and the Vehi- cle Identifi cation Number (VIN) had been removed.
