WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2018 HERMISTONHERALD.COM • A5 RECORDS OBITUARIES DEATHS Earl Robert Perry John ‘Bud’ Wagner John Michael ‘Mike’ Driscoll Pendleton November 30, 1941 - August 27, 2018 Hermiston July 8, 1933 - August 29, 2018 Bullhead City, Ariz., Sept. 23, 1947 - Aug. 29, 2018 Earl Robert Perry, of Pendleton, Oregon, was born to parents Louis M. and Katherine (Blackburn) Perry on November 30, 1941, in Newport, Wash- ington. He died on August 27, 2018, in Richland, Washing- ton, at the age of 76 Perry years. Earl was the sev- enth of eight chil- dren born at home, as was the custom in those days. Earl attended many dif- ferent schools while grow- ing up as his father followed work in construction of the dams, Hanford, etc. He graduated from Wenatchee, Washington, High School in 1960. After graduating he and several of his friends joined the U.S. Navy to see the world. His time of service was from 1960-1964. After his tour of duty, he returned to the Pilot Rock/Pendleton area. One of Earl’s favorite jobs after he retired from Hill Meat Co. was driving bus for Mid Columbia Bus Company in Pendleton. He loved the children he had contact with each day and treated them with kindness as if each and every one was his own. A number of sum- mers he drove firefighters from fire to fire. He would mention his “motorhome” had windows down both sides, etc., and then would say it was a school bus. This always made his sister’s heart sing when she remem- bered the good times. His life was made full in 1997 when he and Trini Hank became forever partners. Trini brought two beautiful daughters into the relationship (Tiah and Calli). This, in turn, brought six cherished grandchil- dren into his life. His world was complete with love, laughter, respect, etc., when this happened. He is survived by Trini Hank, Tiah (Dave Slootweg) Glynn of Pilot Rock, Calli (Sonny) Gulick of Baker City, Ore., grandchildren Tara, Megan and Beau Glynn and Taylor, Briley and Raegan Gulick, and also Dennis and Linda Estrada of Woodburn, Ore- gon, and too many friends to name. Earl is also survived by sister Beverly (Chuck) Bonando of Pilot Rock and brother Gerry Perry of Van- couver, Wash. There are many nieces and nephews in the Perry family too numer- ous to mention. He was preceded in death by brothers Vern, Mick and Stan, and sisters Vada Strick- ert and Penny Hoisington, who just passed away on March 4, 2018. A celebration of life is planned at a later date. Laurel H. ‘Bud’ Wilson Heppner February 17, 1930 - August 29, 2018 Laurel H. “Bud” Wilson of Heppner, Oregon, was born on February 17, 1930, in Centralia, Washington, to parents Edwin and Doris Butler Wilson. He died on August 29, 2018, in Heppner, Oregon, at the age of 88 years. Bud graduated from Dayville High School in Dayville, Oregon. He was Wilson united in marriage to Delores F. Baker on Sep- tember 9, 1952, in Lewis- ton, Idaho. Bud worked as a mechanic/welder for Dennis Logan for many years. They lived in Lexington, Board- man and Hermiston. Bud returned to his roots in Heppner and has lived at Willow Creek Ter- race for many years, where he really enjoyed the resi- dents and staff. He enjoyed the mountains, hunting, rid- ing 4-wheelers, reading and playing bingo. Bud loved spending time with his fam- ily and especially enjoyed watching his great-grandchil- dren’s sporting events: “Go Mustangs.” He is survived by his sons Danny Wilson and wife Mel- anie, and Donny Wilson and wife April, both of Heppner, Ore.; daugh- ter Carmen Wilson, Lexington, Ore.; brothers Wayne Wil- son and Tracy Wilson, both of Lexington, Ore.; and numer- ous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bud was preceded in death by his wife Delores in 2008 and his parents. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Lex- ington Cemetery, Lexington, Oregon. Picard of Uma- tilla was born on March 31, 1934, in Shenandoah, Iowa, the daughter of Roland “Tex” and Helen (Erickson) Wilson. She passed away in Hermiston on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at the age of 84. Beth moved to Echo, Oregon, with her family in the early 1940s where Picard she grew up and attended her school- ing. She married Marvin L. Picard in Pendleton, Oregon, on May 1, 1952. The couple lived in the communities of Ken- newick and Rich- Picard land before moving to San Jose, Calif., in the late 1950s. They returned to Oregon in the early 1960s and have resided in the Umatilla area since that time. Beth was a loving mother and grandmother. An avid reader, she read every Dan- ielle Steele and James Pat- terson novel that was writ- ten. She also enjoyed doing cross stitch and having fam- ily get-togethers. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Mar- vin; four sons, Kris (Kathy) Picard, Robin Picard, Larry (Diana) Picard and Kevin (Bonnie) Picard; sister Mari- lyn Pratt; nine grand- children; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her par- ents; a sister, Vanyla Stephens; and a brother, Dale Wilson. John “Bud” Wagner of Hermiston was born July 8, 1933, in Ione, Oregon, the son of John and Delia (Peebler) Wagner. He passed away in Hermiston on August 29, 2018, at the age of 85. Bud attended grade school in Ione, middle school in The Wagner Dalles and gradu- ated from Heppner High School in the class of 1951. He then attended East- ern Oregon Uni- versity where he played football in the first East-West Shrine game. He then joined the USMC where he served for three years during the Korean War. After his honorable dis- charge, Bud returned to La Grande, Oregon, where he began his career with the Union Pacific Railroad. He served as a brakeman and later as a conductor for the railroad for 38.5 years, retir- ing in 1996. In 1974, he moved to Hermiston where he has resided since. Bud was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Herm- iston. He was a life member of the VFW Post #4750 and the American Legion Post #37 in Hermiston, where he was active on their honor guard team and in parades. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and woodworking. Bud married Joyce Otis in Hermiston on June 9, 1976. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joyce of Hermiston; daugh- ter Jeannine Hunt of Alaska; son John R. Wag- ner of California; daughter Trisha Hattery of Wash- ington; stepsons Tom and Rene Barnes; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Rob- ert, James, David and Ger- ald; and sisters Barbara and Betty Ann. Eva Jeanette Frost Hermiston August 14, 1922 - September 3, 2018 Eva Jeanette Frost departed this life on Monday, September 3, 2018, at Sun Terrace in Hermiston, Ore- gon, at the age of 96 and is now joyfully reunited with her husband, Jim. She was born in Hardin, Montana, on August 14, 1922, to parents Glen and Clara Leffler John. When she was 12 Frost years old the family moved to La Grande, Ore- gon, where she and her two sisters attended school, and graduated from La Grange High School in 1940. On November 10, 1940, she and James LeRoy Frost of North Powder were united in marriage in Weiser, Idaho. They spent 63 years together as true partners, creating a wonderful life for their fam- ily. The marriage was sealed in February of 2004 in the Columbia River Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived in La Grande and Pendleton and moved to Hermiston in 1951 with the railroad. Her kind and gentle spirit touched many fam- ily and friends. She gladly shared homemaking skills she had developed over the years. Eva was a mem- ber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a member and past pres- ident of the Union Pacific Old Timers Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Watermelon Sam’s RV Club and she and Jim traveled to every state as well as parts of Canada and Mexico. Eva is survived by her daughter Linda and hus- band Chet Bohan- non, Camby, Ind.; son Larry Frost and his wife Debra, Mar- icopa, Ariz.; grand- sons Chester Bohan- non, Camby, Ind., Stacy Frost, Vancou- ver, Wash., and Seth Frost, Grants Pass, Ore.; and nine great-grand- children. Eva was the last of her generation on both sides of the family. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Rodney LeRoy; her parents; two sis- ters; and husband Jim.
