REMEMBERING THE FALLEN
H
ermiston residents honored the spirit of Memorial
Day in different ways on Monday.
Some visited loved ones’ graves, while others
attended memorial services at Hermiston Cemetery and
browsed the Avenue of Flags in memory of soldiers and
veterans who have died.
Kyle Hormer, a veteran of the Iraq war, placed his
own memorial in the front yard of his Hermiston home,
using 50 white crosses to represent 50 soldiers he and
Jonathan Wheeler of Walla Walla served with who died
in Iraq.
