Jan. 31, 2018, in Hermiston. He was born Aug. 28, 1934,
in Humboldt, Kan.
Susan M. Lathrom, 76, of Stanfield died Dec. 19, 2017,
at her home. She was born Aug. 9, 1941, in South Bend,
Ind.

1:44 a.m. — A domestic distur-

THURSDAY, FEB. 1
5:15 p.m. — A caller reported a
prowler trying to break in to apart-
ments on June and Catherine ave-
nues, behind the Tire Factory.
6:17 p.m. — On West Fulton Ave-
nue, Hermiston, there were reports of
people going through cars.
7:55 p.m. — A suicidal subject
was reported at Westland Road,
Hermiston.
10:34 p.m. — A male chased the
caller from his workplace at One Stop
Mart on Northwest 11th Street, and
chased him to his residence.
FRIDAY, FEB. 2
11:30 a.m. — A fight was reported
at South Highway 395, Hermiston.
7:39 p.m. — A domestic distur-
bance just occurred at West Orchard
Avenue, and a female was laying in
the yard.
SATURDAY, FEB. 3
1:21 p.m. — On West June Avenue,
Hermiston, two males were causing a
disturbance and one broke a window.
11:59 p.m. — A Spanish-speak-
ing male called the language line and
reported that he was hit, and needs
ambulance.
SUNDAY, FEB. 4
1:56 a.m. — A fight was reported
at East Main Street, Hermiston.
7:32 a.m. — A runaway was
reported at Southwest 10th Place,
Hermiston.
10:00 a.m.— A domestic distur-
bance was reported at Northeast 10th
Street, Hermiston. A caller reported a
female was beating him up.
Patricia Susan (Fee-
hly) Brown, 63, of Irrigon
passed away surrounded
by her loving family and
friends on February 2,
2018. She was born
on March 13, 1954,
to L. Wayne Fee-
hly Sr. and Betty
Magaw Feehly in
Wilmington, Del.
She was raised
in Elkton, Md.,
and
graduated Brown
from Elkton High
School in 1972. Her heart’s
desire was to be a wife and
mother. She met the love of
her life, Martin L. Brown
Jr., in 1972 and they were
married on January 27,
1973.
In 1979 they moved
to Oregon. They lived
in Boardman for a short
time before settling in Irri-
gon. She worked at Lamb
Weston for many years
before moving to Florida.
In Naples, Patty started
working for a local school
district as a food service
worker. She loved working
with the students and see-
ing their smiling faces.
She enjoyed going
to the beach after work,
swimming and sitting in
the warm sun. Patty loved
the ocean and being out-
doors. A favorite hobby
of Patty’s was going shop-
ping with her friends and
family.
In 2004, they moved
back to Irrigon to be closer
to their grandchildren.
Patty continued to work as
an assistant cook at River-
side High School and later
as a head cook at Windy
River Elementary. She
truly loved working with
children.
Patty was a 38-year
member of Irrigon Assem-
bly of God (now Family
Worship Center). While
living in Florida, she was
a member of Golden Gate
Assembly of God. Her
accomplishments are many
but her most treasured role
other than that of wife and
mother was serving her
Savior. Patty volunteered
in many areas of church
including nursery worker,
cafe worker, trea-
surer and youth
group leader. She
faithfully loved oth-
ers for Jesus.
Patty was also a
member of Christian
Motorcycle Asso-
ciation. She loved
to ride motorcy-
cles with her husband and
friends, sharing Jesus with
others.
Her hobbies included
hiking, boating, fishing,
camping, spending time
with family and working
with FWC youth.
Survived by her hus-
band of 45 years, Martin
L. Brown Jr.; son Marty
(Jennie); daughter Wendy
(Jim); grandchildren Marty
IV, Kyle, Cody, Ash-
ley and Katelyn; father L.
Wayne Feehly Sr.; broth-
ers Lawrence Jr. (Myr-
tle) and Michael; sisters
Peggy (Frank) Heverin

Colleen
Norman
(Joe); and numerous aunts,
uncles, cousins, nieces and
nephews.
Patty was preceded in
death by her mother: Betty
Feehly.

held on Saturday, Febru-

Boardman man killed in
I-84 single-vehicle crash
HERMISTON HERALD
A Boardman man died
Monday night in a fiery sin-
gle-vehicle crash on Inter-
state 84 near Hermiston.
Ever Moreno Lerma,
48, was driving eastbound
on I84 at about 8:40 p.m.,
according to the Oregon
State Police, when he rolled
his 2004 Chevrolet Trail-
blazer near Milepost 181
between the Westland Road
and Highway 207 exits.
When emergency crews
arrived they found the vehi-
cle engulfed in flames.
Moreno Lerma had been
ejected from the vehicle
and died at the scene.
One lane of the freeway
was closed for about three
hours during the investi-
gation. Speed is believed
to have contributed to the
crash, and Moreno Lerma
was not wearing a seatbelt.
It is not known why the
vehicle left the roadway.

tences have been imposed in Umatilla
County courts:
FELONY
•Maria Anita Martinez, 35, Irri-
gon, pleaded no contest to Burglary II
and guilty to Theft I: sentenced to 18
months Oregon Dept. of Corrections
(DOC) and 1 year post-prison super-
vision for each count, $200 fine and
$496 restitution, plus court costs and
fees; pleaded guilty to Theft II: restitu-
tion ordered as part of previous case;
pleaded guilty to Criminal Mischief II;
sentence discharged.
MISDEMEANOR
•Nychal Ryan Gritz, 22, Hermiston,
pleaded guilty to Recklessly Endan-
gering Another Person-domestic vio-
lence: sentenced to 180 days jail-sus-
pended, 2 years probation, $500
compensatory fine and $1,551.68 res-
titution; pleaded guilty to Harass-
ment-domestic violence: sentenced
to 90 days jail-suspended and 2 years
probation.
•Guadalupe Perez Rubio, 56,
Boardman, pleaded guilty to DUII:
sentenced to 30 days jail, 150 days
jail-suspended, 5 years probation,
240 hours community service, $2,755
fine, $1,500 fine-suspended and life-
time suspension of driver’s license,
plus court costs and fees.
•Chriselda Gutierrez, 39, Hermis-
ton, pleaded guilty to DUII: sentenced
to 15 days jail, 165 days jail-suspended,
3 years probation, $1,755 fine, $1,500
fine-suspended and 3 years driver’s
license suspension, plus court costs
and fees; pleaded guilty to Careless
Driving; pleaded guilty to a second
count of DUII: sentenced to 2 days jail,

man, Montana, the daugh-
ter of Darlene Rundlett and
Edgar Black. She
was a beloved wife,
mother, grandmother
and
great-grand-
mother who went
to be with her Lord
with her husband and
youngest daughter by

Leanne’s family moved
to Tacoma, Wash., when she
was six years of age. She met
her future husband Joseph
Goretti in Tacoma and they
were united in marriage
on September 10, 1955. In
the coming years, the cou-
ple were blessed with three
daughters, Sueann, Sandy
and Shari. After 25 years the
marriage ended in divorce.
Leanne later met Jerry
Gaunt and they were mar-
ried on August 17, 1981, and
they moved to Hermiston. In
1986, Leanne and Jerry pur-
chased a small grocery store
and ice business in Echo. In
1990, they moved to Echo
where they have lived since.
