A
s the fi nal hours of 2017 wound down,
pre-midnight revelers solved a murder
at the Maxwell Siding Event Center in
Hermiston.
The Agape House murder mystery, a
quarterly fundraiser for Eastern Oregon
Mission, brought about 80 would-be detec-
tives to the non-alcoholic party, which
ended as the Times Square ball dropped at
9 p.m. Pacifi c Time.
Powers Schwartz — aka Mike Roxbury
of Umatilla — was the murderer, but suc-
cessfully avoided suspicion from all 10
tables.
Others from Hermiston celebrated the
transition from 2017 to 2018 the next
morning with the Resolution Run, an
annual 5k event at Riverfront Park meant
to help people kick off their fi tness goals
for the new year.
