a hand in helping honor
local veterans for the Veter-
ans Day holiday last week.
In Hermiston, the Greater
Hermiston Area Cham-
ber of Commerce drew in
hundreds of veterans and
family members for a spe-
cial breakfast and program
on Friday. Echo veterans
were honored on Thurs-
day with a parade made
up of Echo School stu-
dents dressed as veter-
ans from various branches
of the military. New Hope
Church in Umatilla pro-
vided a home for the Girl
Scouts’ annual veterans
dinner on Friday night.
Schools also held assem-
blies, and many businesses
offered special discounts to
current and former service
members. Pictured above
