FELONY
•Ricardo Rodriguez Villarreal,
34, Hermiston, pleaded guilty to two
counts of Attempt to Commit Class
A Felony: sentenced to 50 months
Oregon Dept. of Corrections (DOC), 5
years probation, 180 sanction units,
90 maximum jail units, $200 fine and
$4,800 fine-suspended for each count
(sentences to be served consecutive-
ly), plus attorney fees and restitution
to be determined.
•Michael Allen Martin, 71, Hermis-
ton, pleaded no contest to Possession
of Methamphetamine: sentenced to 5
sanction units, jail, 18 months proba-
tion, 85 sanction units, 30 maximum
jail units and $200 fine; pleaded no
contest to DUII: sentenced to 76 days
jail, 104 days jail-suspended, 3 years
probation, $2005 fine, $1,750 fine-sus-
pended and 1 year driver’s license
suspension, plus court costs and fees;
pleaded no contest to Reckless Driv-
ing: sentenced to 180 days jail-sus-
pended and 3 years probation.
•Anthony Gerald Aldridge, 48,
Hermiston, pleaded guilty to Attempt

Ruth M. Olson, 89, of
Hermiston passed away
with her family by her side
on Thursday, October 19,
2017.
Ruth was born
May 8, 1928, in
Airlie, Oregon, the
second daughter of
William and Byrda
(Reece) Vogt. She
grew up in Salem on
a farm and attended
a one-room school Olson
for eight years. She
graduated from Salem
High School in the Class
of 1946.
She married Willard
A. Olson in 1946 when
he returned home from
serving in the Navy after
World War II. The couple
moved to Portland where
they made their home and
raised their family. They
moved to Hermiston 15
years ago to be closer to
their family.

on Highway 207
EAST OREGONIAN
HERMISTON — A
Hermiston woman was hit
by a vehicle while walking
on Highway 207 on Tues-
day evening, and had sev-
eral minor lacerations to
her head.
An Oregon State Po-
lice trooper arrived at the
scene shortly after the
collision at 8:26 p.m., and
determined that the driv-
er, Kayden Mecham, had
been traveling north on
Highway 207.
The pedestrian, Olga
Ayala, was walking south
along the fog line, wearing
all-black clothing.
The vehicle was com-
ing around a curve when
the driver reported hearing
a thump.
According to a police
report, the passenger side
mirror had hit the pedes-
trian.
The driver stopped,
called 911 and remained
on scene, and the pedes-
trian was later transported
to Good Shepherd Medical
Center.
OSP Sgt. Seth Cooney
said the woman’s injuries
were relatively minor, and
that there was no citation
listed for the driver.

8:37 a.m. — A caller reported that
a man in an apartment at West Juni-
per Avenue has a dog with a tumor so
large it drags on the ground, causing
it to bleed. The caller is concerned the
subject is not taking care of the dog
and wants an officer to check on it.
9:59 a.m. — A woman reported that
her daughter has run away. She said her
daughter was with her ex-husband, and
that she got in trouble, and the father
took her phone away. When he went
to wake the daughter this morning
at 6:30a.m., she wasn’t there and the
window was open.
