Dwight Durward Crow,
72, of Seaside, died on May
24, 2017, in Seaside.
He was born on April 11,
1945, in Spokane, Washing-
ton, the son of Earl
and Donna Lovelace
Crow. He was raised
in Hermiston and re-
ceived his education
there. As a kitchen
help employee during
his working years
he was employed at Crow
the State Hospital in
Pendleton, Fairview, and also
worked for the Forest Service
at Sand Lake. He also worked
at a furniture factory in Pilot
Rock and the Army Depot in
Hermiston. He retired from
the Fairview State Hospital.
Mr. Crow moved to the
Seaside area from Waldport,
Oregon, in 2009.
Over the years he enjoyed
jewelry making, fishing,
crabbing, beach walking,
and bodybuilding. He was
also an accomplished bull
rider, stock car racer, motor-
cycle racer, arm wrestler and
boxer.
Mr. Crow is survived
by his longtime partner Le-
ona Sisson of Seaside; his
daughter Kalinn Prouty of
Hermiston; his brother Mike
Crow of Seaside; and
sisters Earlene Jacobs
of Hermiston and
Sherry Graham of An-
chorage, Alaska. Also
surviving is his step-
daughter Dottie Tun-
get of Seaside; son-
in-law Bart Prouty Jr.
of Hermiston; and his
stepson Marshall Sisson of
Umatilla. He is also survived
by 11 grandchildren. two
great-granddaughters and nu-
merous nieces, nephews and
many friends.
Memorial services will be
held at the Lighthouse Chris-
tian Church, 88786 Dellmoor
Loop Road, Warrenton, Ore-
gon, on Saturday, June 10, at
3 p.m.

Paul F. “Butch” Dixon
was born on Feb. 16, 1945,
in Fresno, California, to
parents Paul O. and Estelle
H. Chasteen Dixon. He died
on May 29, 2017, at
his home in Herm-
iston, Oregon, at the
age of 72 years.
Butch was raised
and attended schools
in Northern Cali-
fornia. He moved
to Oregon in 1962 Dixon
and was united
in marriage to H. Arlene
Helfer on Aug. 14, 1964,
in Vancouver, Washington.
They lived in Keizer, Ore-
gon, until 1975 when they
moved to Hermiston, Ore-
gon, where they have lived
since.
Butch owned and operat-
ed Dixon Brothers Plumb-
ing for many years. He
was an avid fisherman who
enjoyed hunting, camping,
playing cards and was an
old Cadillac buff.
He is survived by his
wife of 52 years, Arlene
Dixon, Hermiston; sons

James J. Cragun of Echo
was born September 23,
1978, in Idaho Falls, Idaho,
the son of Dave and Beverly
(Evans) Cragun. He passed
away at the age of 38
on Saturday May 27,
2017, in Hermiston.
He lived in Po-
catello,
Idaho,
throughout his child-
hood where he grad-
uated from Highland
High School in the Cragun
Class of 1996. After
high school, he moved to
Hermiston and has lived in
Eastern Oregon since.
He worked as a welder
in the Hermiston and Pend-
leton areas through much of
his career.
James enjoyed playing
city league basketball and
football.
He is survived by his
parents, Dave and Beverly
(Evans) Cragun; daughter
Braelyn Cragun; two sons,
Jaden and Kaeden
Cragun; and a sister,
Cynthia Bailey.
A celebration of
life service will be
held at 11 a.m. on
Friday June 9, 2017,
at the Burns Mortu-
ary chapel. Burial
will follow in the
Echo Cemetery. A barbe-
cue will be held at his par-
ents’ home at 131 Dale St.
in Echo after the cemetery
service.

FELONY
• Christopher Lee Macias, 27, Hermis-
ton, pleaded guilty to Mail Theft/Receipt of
Stolen Mail: sentenced to 20 months Ore-
gon Dept. of Corrections, 1 year post-prison
supervision and $200 fine.
• Felix Alberto Nieves, 32, Hermiston,
pleaded guilty to Forgery I: sentenced to 18
months Oregon Dept. of Corrections, 1 year
post-prison supervision, $200 fine and
$1,455.63 restitution, plus attorney fees-
waived; pleaded guilty to Possession of
Methamphetamine, Possession of Forged
Instrument I, Theft III and Failure to Appear
II: sentences to discharge.
• Mark Anthony Davis, 26, Hermiston,
pleaded guilty to Possession of Heroin:
sentenced to 18 months probation, 90
sanction units, 30 maximum jail units, 80
hours community service, $200 fine and
$2,300 fine-suspended (conditional dis-
charge).
MISDEMEANOR
• Joseph James Ashley Burns, 22,
Hermiston, pleaded guilty to Attempt to
Commit Class A Misdemeanor: sentenced
to 90 days jail-suspended, 3 years proba-
tion, $500 fine and restitution to be deter-
mined; pleaded guilty to Harassment: sen-
tenced to 90 days jail-suspended, 3 years
probation, 120 hours community service
and $250 fine; pleaded guilty to Criminal
Mischief III: sentenced to $100 fine.
• Dennis Jon Larsen, 36, Hermiston,
pleaded guilty to Disorderly Conduct II:

months probation, 40 hours community

• Leodegario Sausedo Campos, 60,

Suspended/Revoked: sentenced to 180
days jail-suspended, 2 years probation, 60
hours community service, $2,000 fine and

that a man yanked headphones off
of her at Southeast Fourth Street,

a bus hit a vehicle while turning onto
Orchard Avenue, Hermiston.

Terry D. Hiatt, 68,
passed away peacefully at
home on May 30 following
a long and hard-fought bat-
tle with Crohn’s Disease for
many years. He was
comforted through
his faith in Christ,
love from family and
friends.
He was born in
Pendleton on April
6, 1949, to Frank S.
Hiatt and Corrine Hiatt
D. (Walters) Hiatt.
He was raised and attend-
ed school in Hermiston
and later graduated from
BMCC in Pendleton. He
had lived in Hermiston, the
Los Angeles area and Port-
land, returning in 1983 to
live in Irrigon.
He enjoyed working; he
had worked for the Port-
land Job Corps Manpower
Center, Americold, Termi-
cold, Gilroy Foods, Oregon
Trail Homes and Concrete
Special Ties before start-
ing his own business, Fox
General Contracting. He
did commercial work for
Colorado Structures Inc.
throughout the Northwest,
work for Umatilla Electric
Cooperative and for local
property management. He
did private work as well,
many times for the elderly
as charity.
He enjoyed spend-
ing time with family and
friends, wood working,
fabrication, fishing, camp-
ing, motorcycle riding and
being outdoors. He was an
accomplished charcoal art-
ist and primitive painter.
Terry is survived by
his wife, Nancy; daugh-
ter, Becky Russell, Cam-
pos, Calif.; son Joe Hi-
att, Boardman; son Tony
(Jewlia Quaranta) Hiatt,
