EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Agricultural Equipment Operators wanted June 1 to November 15,
2017 for Peri & Sons Farms of California, LLC in Firebaugh, CA.
There are 9 temporary positions available. Workers will be required
to assist in the harvest of onions by performing the following duties:
Workers must operate the onion lifter, stand on top of onion lifter
and walk in onion fields behind the sack loader to pick up dropped
onions. Work may be performed during light rain and in windy condi-
tions and in temperatures in excess of 100° degrees F. Field work
is very dusty. Workers will be seated while operating equipment for
long periods of time. Workers will be required to walk in onion fields
and stoop to collect dropped onions. Workers will stand on the top
of the onion lifter for long periods of time. Applicants must have 30
daysʼ verifiable experience in operating onion lifting farm equipment.
The standard work week is 8 hrs per day, Tuesday – Sunday. Hours
of operation are set as a split shift; 6am to 10am & 6pm to 10pm 6
days per week. Three quarter of the hours in the contract period are
guaranteed. Tools, supplies, equipment provided by employer at no
cost to the worker. No cost housing will be provided for individual
workers who cannot reasonably return to their permanent residence
at the end of the work day, no family housing available. Reasonable
transportation and subsistence expenses to the worksite will be paid
by the employer in the paycheck issued for the workersʼ first pay pe-
riod. Hourly rate is $12.57. Overtime rate of pay applies per the CA
Wage Order for Agricultural occupations. Interested parties should

General Farm Laborers/Hand Harvesters wanted June 1 to
August 25, 2017 for Peri & Sons Farms of California, LLC in Fire-
baugh, CA. There are 200 temporary positions available. Work
duties will include, but not be limited to: Worker will be required
to hand harvest onions to market specifications so as not to
cause damage to the produce by clipping onion roots and tops in
the field; Place product in buckets and transfer to field sacks; Lift
and/or move sacks weighing 50 - 150 pounds; Facilitate the load-
ing of product to harvest vehicles in the field. All other duties as-
signed under this order will be those duties of Farmworker, Diver-
sified Crops, under the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational
Classification Code 45-2092.02. Applicants must have 30 days
verifiable experience in hand harvesting onions. Must be able to
lift and/or move 10-50 pounds. Worker must be able to bend and
stoop to reach ground level crops and be able to stand on their
feet or be on their knees for long periods of time. The scheduled
work week is Sunday through Friday. Work is scheduled on a
night shift of 5 hours on Sunday 10:00pm to 3:00am and 7 hours
Monday through Friday 10:00pm to 6:00am Three quarter of the
hours in the contract period are guaranteed. Tools, supplies,
equipment provided by employer at no cost to the worker. No
