Austin L. Bieren, 25, of Umatilla died Tuesday, March
28, 2017, while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was born
Jan. 7, 1992, in Pendleton. A celebration of life service

p.m. on Thursday,
March 23, 2017,
with his daughter
Charity and grand-
daughter Danielle
by his side. He was
92 years young.
Isensee
Bud was born on
Aug. 4, 1924, in Ventura,
California, to Bernard and
Mayme (Laird) Isensee.
His family moved to the
Hermiston, Oregon, area
in 1929.
Bud enlisted in the
United States Army Air
Corps in 1943 and proud-
ly served his country as
a tail gunner in a B-52
bomber. After World War
II, Bud worked several
different jobs. He was a
Los Angeles County high-
way motorcycle officer, a
photographer, a Richland,
Washington, police offi-
cer, worked on the Co-
lumbia Basin Irrigation
Project, Hanford Nuclear
Plant, Umatilla Ordnance
Depot and he eventual-
ly retired from the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers
at Chief Joseph Dam as a
control room operator.
He married Cherie June
Vincent in Winnemucca,
Nevada, in 1950 and to-
gether they had five chil-
dren. He lived the majority
of his life in the Brewster
and Bridgeport area, and
most recently in Connell.

west Desert Oak Drive reported
that her son is threatening her.
• 3:47 a.m. — A caller at a
residence on West Highland
Avenue, said he had been drinking
for a week and is having thoughts
of self-harm.
• 5:59 a.m. — A caller reported
that his drunk girlfriend keeps
dropping the baby and he kicked
her out of the house on East
Reeder Avenue, Hermiston.
• 6:07 a.m. — An audible bank
alarm was coming from the cash
vault zone one at Umpqua Bank on
North First Street, Hermiston.
• 9:23 a.m. — A caller reported
that an elderly male on Southwest
Riverhill Drive has repeatedly
harassed her child.
• 9:54 a.m. — A green BMX
Culture Chrome Genesis bicycle
was taken some time after March
28 from West Laird Avenue,
Hermiston.
• 10:31 p.m. — A resident at
East Main Street, Hermiston, is out
of control and yelling obscenities
at people passing by. He has a fire
in his backyard.
11:50 p.m. — A caller stated
that they were talking to a suicidal
female.
SUNDAY, APRIL 2
• 9:38 a.m. — A caller was re-
porting harassment by phone and
text messages during the night, at
Northwest 11th Street, Hermiston.
• 12:02 p.m. — A caller at East
Dogwood Avenue reported that
their father head-butted their
brother and threatened their
mother.
• 12:44 p.m. — A caller report-
ed that someone kicked down his
door at 4 a.m. on South Highway
395.
• 2:36 p.m. — A caller at
Dogwood Apartments on East Dog-
wood Avenue said a man pulled a
gun on him.
• 11:27 p.m. — There was a
fight at Midway Tavern, North First
Street, Hermiston.
• 11:30 p.m. — There was a
prowler at Northeast Second

Peggy is survived by her

ceded in death by her
parents, Amos and
Estelle, stepfather Leonard
(Curly) Hoopaw, husband

were egged on Northeast Gladys

ported fired at East Cherry Avenue,
Hermiston.
• 5:52 p.m. — A fight occurred
at West Park Elementary School
on Southwest Seventh Street,
Hermiston.

heard screaming in the park at
East Jennie Avenue.
• 11:39 a.m. — A previous
caretaker at the residence is taking
items, and will not leave, at South-

ported at 7-Eleven, South Highway

• 10:27 a.m. — A red and white
Honda CRF-50 dirt bike was stolen
from his residence, at Southwest

looking in the windows of a vacant
house.

a stalking complaint at Southwest

reported an older male harassing
her daughter. They have had trou-

someone stole $1,000 worth of
power tools and socket sets out
of the bed of their truck at Oxford

• 2:25 p.m. — A caller said she
let her ex see their child, and the
ex took the child inside the apart-
ment and won’t open the door. At
Southgate Village Apartments on
South First Street, Hermiston.
• 7:40 p.m. — Three to four
adults were physically fighting
in front of a house on Northeast
Gladys Avenue, Hermiston.
• 10:17 p.m. — A caller on
Southwest 11th Street reported
shots fired.

Verna Taylor, HAS
Peggy Naomi Hickey
was born on April 7, 1937,
to Amos and Estelle Rose in
Freeport, Texas. She passed
away on March 31, 2017, in
Hermiston, Oregon, at
the age of 79.
She
attended
schools in Texas, Illi-
nois, and Kentucky as
her stepfather worked
in construction and
moved to from state to
state with the building Hickey
of new dams.
She met and married
James A. Hickey on Sept. 3,
1954. She continued with her
senior year of high school and
graduated from Brazosport
High School in May of 1955.
Peggy worked as a prac-
tical nurse in Laramie, Wy-
oming, Mercy Hospital in
Redding, Calif., Virginia Ma-
son Hospital, Seattle, Wash-
ington, and Good Shepherd
Hospital here in Hermiston.
She drove forklift at Lamb-
Weston in Hermiston and
Boardman. Her favorite job,
though, was out at Hinkle
working for Stubby Trans-
portation as a yard hostler.
She loved the banter and giv-
ing the rail crews a bad time
when picking them up or tak-
ing them to the trains.
Peggy enjoyed crochet-
ing, embroidery, reading and
bowling. She was the secre-
tary of the Kings and Queens
bowling league on Monday
nights. She bowled on the
Thursday night Women’s
Major League, the Tuesday
Morning Coffee League and
the Travel League. She had
the most fun as a member of
Mother Goose and Her Four
Quackers for bowling tourna-
ments. She was a member of

several loved great-grand-
children and a great-great-
grandchild.
Bud was preceded in
death by an infant daugh-
ter, Rosemarie, and his one
true love Cherie June; two
brothers, Bernard “Ber-
nie” and Edwin “Eddie”
Isensee; and two sisters,
Alva “Boots” Hunt and
IdaMae “Perk” Rodda.
A celebration of life
will be held on April 22 at
the Othello Senior Center
in Othello, Washington,
from 1-4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, dona-

gion Columbia Post 97
in Brewster, Washington,
or the Inland Northwest
