4:53 a.m. - Umatilla police
responded to the Church Of Jesus
Christ Of Latter-day Saints, 15 Grant
St., for what turned out to be a
controlled burn.
11:20 a.m. - A man on East Jennie
Avenue, Hermiston, reported he has
video showing a male subject that
keeps trying to get into his mother’s
house during the night.
1:23 p.m. - A caller on Minnehaha
Road, Hermiston, reported a neigh-
bor boy, about 10, used a sling shot
to chip the paint on her husband’s
vehicle. She said they did no want to
contact the parents because they are
volatile toward her and her husband.
8:23 p.m. - Police and fire
responded to the eastbound lanes
of Interstate 84 near Echo after a car
struck a deer. The impact deployed
airbags and totaled the car, which
blocked traffic. There was no infor-
mation available about who was in
the vehicle or if anyone was injured.
TUESDAY, NOV. 22
7:10 a.m. - The Umatilla County
Sheriff’s Office took a report about a
local offender sending threatening
text messages.
8:54 a.m. - The Umatilla County
Sheriff’s Office received a report
of someone shooting guns on
property on Wilcox Lane, Umatilla.
The caller said several people have
been shooting there in the past, and
also filing false police reports. He
requested contact from a deputy.
9:12 a.m. - A man told Umatilla
police someone stole his identity and
opened up a cable TV account.
11:24 a.m. - A Hermiston
resident reported police telephonic
harassment.
1:08 p.m. - A Umatilla man asked
to speak to police about harass-
ment charges against a woman for
posting lies and stories about him on
Facebook.
3:43 p.m. - A Hermiston man on
Northeast Fifth Street reported he
arrived home to find some items
askew and tools missing.
4:25 p.m. - An employee at
Oregon Dehydration, 405 Hoosier
Lane, Stanfield, reported a theft to
Stanfield police.
4:27 p.m. - Transients appear
to be trying to set up a camp
in Hermiston between Kopacz
Nursery & Florist and Hermiston
Cinemas on West Theater Lane.
Hermiston police are investigating.
4:52 p.m. - Hermiston police
responded to the parking lot of
Big Lots, Hermiston Plaza, 930 S.
Highway 395, for a man screaming
at people.
5:50 p.m. - The Umatilla County
Sheriff’s Office lost phone service.

A special joint service
held Nov. 27 celebrated the
shared site and ministry of
Grace and Mercy Lutheran
Church and the First United
Methodist Church at 191 E.
Gladys Ave., Hermiston.
Beginning Sunday, the
two congregations will of-
fer worship services at 8:45
a.m. (Lutheran) and 11 a.m.
(Methodist). People of all
faiths are invited to attend
either or both services. A
nursery is provided during
both worship services. In
addition, Sunday school is
at 10 a.m.
