6:50 a.m. - A isherman at
the mouth of the Umatilla River
complained to Umatilla police that
someone was shooting at ducks over
the heads of ishermen in boats in the
area, and BBs were raining down on
people’s heads.
5:24 p.m. - Umatilla police
received a report of shots ired from a
rile in the vicinity of Jane Avenue and
Sixth Street.
7:19 p.m. - Trucks in a farmer’s
ield next to the Eastern Oregon Trade
& Event Center, 1705 E. Airport Road,
Hermiston, were “spinning out” and
“doing cookies,” and a caller was
concerned the activity may cause
trouble with the event being held at
the center. The man called again at
7:56 p.m. to report two of the trucks
were still driving recklessly, and
requested contact from a Hermiston
police oicer. Another caller at 10:07
p.m. called Hermiston police to
complain about noise from the event
at the center.
8:20 p.m. - A resident of Country
Club Manor Apartments, 605 Umatilla
Ave., Umatilla, reported the theft of
a bottle of anxiety medication some-
time within the past four days.
10:07 p.m. - Hermiston police
received a report from a caller at the
11th Street Market, 425 N.W. 11th St.,
that an 11-year-old boy was driving a
car for his intoxicated father.
11:49 p.m. - Hermiston police
received a report of a gunshot in the
vicinity of Victory Square, Southwest
10th Street and West Hermiston
Avenue.
FRIDAY, OCT. 14
5:34 a.m. - A pump, motor, hoses
and several ittings designed for
chemicals, along with 200 gallons of
diesel fuel, were reported stolen from
a tractor in the vicinity of South Ed-
wards and Feedville roads, Stanield.
8:57 a.m. - Three teachers at
Desert View Elementary School, 1225
S.W. Ninth St., Hermiston, reported
the theft of credit cards.
1:47 p.m. - A woman witnessed
the theft of her husband’s three-door
hand-held tool box from the back
of his pickup on West Nelson Lane,
Hermiston. The caller said she yelled
at the suspects and they left in a light
blue 1993 Toyota Tercel two-door. A
Umatilla County sherif’s deputy took
a report.
1:54 p.m. - A Hermiston woman
reported her name was used to
rent an apartment in Arizona, and a
collections agency is trying to collect
ine-suspended and 6 months driver’s
license suspension.
• Whitney Diane Sanders, 19,
Hermiston, pleaded guilty to Posses-
sion of Methamphetamine: sentenced
to 18 months probation, 90 sanction
units, 30 maximum jail units and 80
hours community service.
• Benito Serrano Landa, 32, Uma-
tilla (TRCI), pleaded guilty to Assault
IV: sentenced to 18 months Oregon
Dept. of Corrections, 2 years post-pris-
on supervision and $200 ine.
• Justin James Sanders, 33, Herm-
iston, pleaded guilty to Failure to
Appear I: sentenced to 8 months jail,
2 years post-prison supervision and
$200 ine, plus court costs and fees.

liams, 27, Hermiston, pleaded guilty

sentenced to 15 days jail-suspended,

1:15 p.m. - A person asked to
speak to a Boardman police oicer
about harassment, which began an
investigation.
3:45 p.m. - Stanield police took a
report of criminal mischief at Stanield
Secondary School, 1120 N. Main St.,
Stanield.
3:56 p.m. - A caller reported
she was driving by Hermiston High
School, 600 S. First St., and someone
in a white car threw an apple at her
window. The Oregon license plate on
the suspect’s vehicle was UDC 316, the
caller reported.
7:16 p.m. - Hermiston police
received a request to trespass several
transients from the Wal-Mart Super-
center, 1350 N. First St.
9:38 p.m. - A man on West Laird
Avenue, Hermiston, called 9-1-1 to
report he was in a domestic violence
situation with his wife. Though it was
not physical, he was drinking and
children were in the home.
11:44 p.m. - Umatilla police
responded to a 9-1-1 call on Pomono
Drive for a man hitting a woman
several times in the side of the face
and neck.
1:55 p.m. - A woman went to a
home on North Prescott Street, Echo,
and grabbed the occupant there by
the neck. That person then bit the at-
tacker. The call information indicated
the two know each other.
8:43 p.m. - The Umatilla County
9-1-1 center received a call from a
man who stated, “I need to talk to Bill
Golter,” a Hermiston police oicer. The
dispatcher asked the caller questions,
but he only said he wanted to talk
to Golter.A woman then got on the
phone, said there was no emergency
and her boyfriend was highly intoxi-
cated and tried to explain to him not
to call 9-1-1.

been a Hermiston resident for 10 years
and has never rented an apartment in
Arizona. She requested oicer contact.
3:05 p.m. - An Irrigon man
reported theft problems and named a
possible suspect.
3:57 p.m. - A man called Herm-
iston police to report two men in an
SUV parked at Butte Park were doing
meth and one of them had a revolver.
THURSDAY, OCT. 13
12:10 p.m. - A mother reported her
daughter assaulted her and left in a
blue car from Hat Rock Campground,
82280 Hat Rock Road, Hermiston.
She said her daughter was high on
methamphetamine.
12:39 p.m. - Hermiston police
received a report of an elderly woman
wearing only a t-shirt and crying
while on an electric scooter at West
Highland Avenue and Southwest
Seventh Street.
2:24 p.m. - A caller told Umatilla
police people are piling bicycles
without tires on a ire hydrant on B
Street and throwing garbage out the
windows, which is making a mess.
2:27 p.m. - A woman on Cherry
Street, Umatilla, told police she and
her husband argued and he punched
the front room window and cut his
hand.
3:46 p.m. - Hermiston police
received a call to send an oicer to
the emergency department of Good
Shepherd Health Care System, 610
N.W. 1th St., for a possible victim of
elder abuse.
5:20 p.m. - Someone stole $1,800
in change from the master restroom
at Highland Park on Northeast Madro-
na Drive, Hermiston.
10:22 p.m. - People yelled and
screamed at a duplex on Northeast
Eighth Street, Hermiston.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 12
3:24 a.m. - A commercial bus
driver at Love’s Travel Stop & Country
Store, 78665, Tower Road, Boardman,
reported a passenger was being
irrational and posing a threat to
other passengers. The Morrow County
Sherif’s Oice responded and found
the 50-year-old man was complaining
of gallbladder problems.
8:13 a.m. - Hermiston police
received a 9-1-1 call for an oicer
to help a 9-month-old baby locked
inside a white Plymouth PT Cruiser
in front of the U.S. Post Oice, 375 W.
Orchard Ave.
9:33 a.m. - The Umatilla County
Sherif’s Oice receive a report of ive
or six neglected horses at the corner
of Banks Lane and East Punkin Center
Road, Hermiston.
12:19 p.m. - A mother told
Hermiston police she took a $200 coat

1:44 a.m. - A 9-1-1 caller in Uma-
tilla reported a “higher power” told
her someone was outside her home
and she may have heard noise in the
backyard but that could be her dog.
Still, she said, she would like an oicer
to contact her.
8:39 a.m. - A man asked to speak
to a Umatilla County sherif’s deputy
after a near crash. He reported he
was northbound on Highway 395 near
Punkin Center Road, Hermiston, when
a driver with California plates changed
lanes and did not signal, nearly
clipping his vehicle. They pulled into
the parking lot at Oxarc Inc., 80492
Highway 395 N., Hermiston, where
the caller said the other driver made
threats. The caller said he was going
to tell police, and the other driver
stated he was the police.
11:24 a.m. - A caller from Stahl
Farms on Despain Gulch Road,
Stanield, reported a bulk tank of
pesticide leaked during the weekend,
possibly due to vandalism. The man
also said he contacted emergency and
environmental agencies.
1:13 p.m. - Hale’s Restaurant, 174 E.
Main St., Hermiston, was the victim of
theft. Someone stole two checks from
the business, according to the report
to Hermiston police, and cashed them
in Walla Walla.

WEDNESDAY
• Hermiston police arrested
Matthew Allen Dean Pearce, 27, of
Everett, Washington, for possession
of methamphetamine and on a felony
probation violation.
• Hermiston police at about 4:30
p.m. responded to the 800 block of
Ridgeway Avenue on a report of a
man pushing a woman to the ground.
Police arrested Jonathan Aaron
Paris, 33, of Hermiston, for third-de-
gree assault. The Umatilla County
District Attorney’s Oice iled initial
charges against Paris of attempted
second-degree assault, two counts
of fourth-degree assault, two counts
of harassment, recklessly endan-
gering another person, attempted
fourth-degree assault constituting
domestic violence, and harassment.
• The Morrow County Sherif’s
Oice reported a deputy on Monday
cited Marcelino Tzanahua-Colohua,
35, of Ione, for driving under the
inluence of intoxicants.

•Oregon State Police arrested
Chad Lee Nations, 53, address not pro-
vided, on a felony fugitive warrant.
•The Umatilla County Sherif’s Oice
arrested Katie Ann Sargent, 27, address
not provided, on a felony fugitive war-
rant and felony parole/LSA violation.
SATURDAY
•Hermiston police arrested Nolan
Douglas McClatchy, 49, address not
provided, on felony charges of pos-
session of methamphetamine, failure
to appear and parole/LSA violation,
and for giving false information to
police, a misdemeanor.
•The Umatilla County Sherif’s
Oice arrested Julia Renee Wittig, 27,
address not provided, for unlawful
delivery of marijuana within 1,000
feet of a school.

HERMISTON — A
Hermiston driver faces a
felony after police claimed
he crashed into a bicyclist
and left the injured rider at
the scene.
Hermiston Police Capt.
Travis Eynon in a written
statement reported oficers
at about 5:58 p.m. respond-
ed to Northeast Fourth
Street and East Gladys Av-
enue for a vehicle versus
bicycle collision.
The bicyclist, Jason M.
Simpkins, 29, of 638 N.E.
Dakota Court, Hermiston,
was riding southbound on
Northeast Fourth when a
north-going Chevrolet Im-
pala turned left onto East
Gladys Avenue, according
to Eynon, and into Simp-
kins’ path. Simpkins and
his bicycle hit the right rear
quarter panel of the Impala,
which did not stop.
Eynon stated a witness
to the crash followed the
Impala a short distance and
provided oficers with a li-
cense plate and a descrip-
tion of the driver.

cal treatment at the scene.
Oficer’s went to 915
N.W. Stockton St., Herm-
iston, where they found the
Impala, which had exten-
sive damage to the right rear
quarter panel. They also
found Federico Ricardo
DeJesus, 44, who lives at the
address, and arrested him on
the felony of failure to per-
form the duties of a driver to
injured persons. Police also
arrested DeJesus for driving
while suspended/revoked, a
misdemeanor. Oficers pro-
cessed DeJesus at the police
department, then booked
him into the Umatilla Coun-
ty Jail, Pendleton.
