PUBLIC SAFETY LOG SUNDAY, OCT. 9 12:28 p.m. - Police looked for but did not ind a man after a woman at Wildwood RV Park, 82280 Wildwood Lane, Umatilla, called 9-1-1 and said she was outside when a male came up to her and asked her questions about her personal life. 12:31 a.m. - A caller reported a man was assaulting a woman at the Boardman Marina, 1 Marine Drive N.W., Boardman. 7:47 a.m. - A Hermiston man reported a “black mutt” tried to attack him at Southwest 10th Street and West Highland Avenue. 3:04 p.m. - Hermiston police received a report that a resident of Guardian Angel Homes, 540 N.W. 12th St., Hermiston, was missing. 6:26 p.m. - Hermiston police received a call that three clowns were near Eastside Market, 582 E. Main St., and running toward Highway 395. Once more, police did not ind any clowns. 7:41 p.m. - Hermiston police received another report of a clown sighting, this time second-hand. The caller claimed the clown was on the road at Armand Larive Middle School, 1497 S.W. Ninth St., and trying to scare people. 10:42 p.m. - Guess what? Yep, another clown sighting. A caller on the 500 block of Willamette Avenue, Umatilla, reported a Caucasian male dressed all in black with white paint on his face hit him with a water balloon through the window of his vehicle. And police did not ind the clown. He graduated from Echo High School in 1941 and served in the Army Air Force 525th Bombard- ment Squadron Wimmer stationed in Ita- ly during WWII. Friends introduced him to Rayjean Hendrickson and they married Novem- ber 18, 1946. They lived most of their nearly 70 years of marriage in Pend- leton.
