Bank collects school Stand off ers local
Oregon elects offi cers supplies for students fruits, vegetables

George Koffl er was recent-
ly elected chairman of the
Bank of Eastern Oregon
board of directors.
The bank made an an-
nouncement after the recent
shareholders meeting in
Heppner. Bank of Eastern
Oregon is a subsidiary of
BEO Bancorp. In addition,
Joel Peterson of Ione was
named vice chairman.
Koffl er joined the board
in 1993. He retired from
employment with the bank
in 2012 after a career that
spanned 32 years.
The Bank of Eastern Or-
egon operates 13 branches
and fi ve loan production of-
fi ces in 12 Eastern Oregon
communities and in Pasco,

People can donate
school supplies at the
Bank of Eastern Oregon
to be distributed to local
elementary schools.
The Bank of Eastern
Oregon is serving as a
drop site in all of its 13
branch lobbies to help
provide items to students
in need.
In
addition,
each
branch will offer a draw-
ing for backpacks filled
with school supplies for
some lucky students. Peo-
ple don’t have to be cus-
tomers to be eligible for
the drawing.
Local branch locations
include Boardman, Hep-
pner, Ione and Irrigon.
The collection continues
through the month of Au-

The public can purchase
local fruits, vegetables, ber-
ries and more at the Board-
man Produce Stand.
Recently re-opened, it
operates seven days a week
from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the
corner of Northeast Front
and Third Streets, Board-
man.
The project is a result
of the Boardman Commu-
nity Development Associ-
ation with fi nancial assis-
tance provided by Morrow
County. They are renting
the stand from Bob Walchli
Farms.

blues to park series
With a soulful voice and
bluesy repertoire, Jamie
Nasario captures the clas-
sic vibe from the ‘50s and
‘60s while still maintaining
a modern fl avor.
The Echo woman, who
is backed by guitarist Luke
Basile and Dennis “Too
Short” Rogers on drums,
will perform during the up-
coming Music in the Parks.
The public is invited to hear
the acoustic trio Monday at
7 p.m. at Boardman Marina
Park. There is no admission
charge.
People are invited to
bring a picnic and a blan-
ket or chair and enjoy the
music. Also, concessions
will be available for pur-
chase from Judy’s Chuck
Wagon.
The free park series al-
ternates each Monday be-
tween Boardman and Irri-
gon marina parks.
It runs through Aug.

• Each year employees of the Boardman Branch of BoEO join together to collect supplies for
local community elementary schools.
• The Boardman Branch front lobby is a drop-off point for local elementary schools during
the month of August.
• The bank will also be off ering a drawing for a backpack fi lled with supplies for lucky
students, in addition to collecting supplies for the schools or ESD offi ce to distribute.
• The local branch invites community members to “celebrate the spirit of your hometown”
by bringing school supplies in to the bank.
• Anyone who has a grade school student is invited in to fi ll out a drawing ticket to enter for
a chance to win a school backpack for the student.
• Entrants and those wishing to donate do not need to be a customer to participate.

Festival, celebrated at the SAGE...
There are a large variety of categories to
enter from, including local homemade food
items, crafts, soaps, beers/wine, homegrown
