rough stock at this year’s event. Five
different companies from various
regions are sending animals to participate
in the rodeo. Spectators can expect to see
impressive animals from Calgary Stam-

out of Pierre, S.D., Corey & Lange/Flying
Diamond Rodeo Co. from Moses Lake,

Milton-Freewater.
Veteran stock contractor Mike Corey of
Corey & Lange/ Flying Diamond will be
bringing his best animals to the Farm City
Pro Rodeo.
“They don’t hire me to bring the second
string animals,” he said. “They hire me to
bring the best.”
One of his best animals coming for bare-
back competition is his horse, Trip Wire,
“He bucks pretty hard,” Corey said.
Fans should also be on the lookout for
what Corey calls a “special” bull.
Bottle Rocket is a young bull, but has
already built quite a resume. Most recently
he won “Bull of the Rodeo” at the Calgary
Stampede. He’s previously won top bull
nods for the Columbia River Circuit and at
the National Finals Rodeo.
Aside from hosting events, Calgary
Stampede also raises rough stock for rodeo.
Kristina Barnes, communications manager
for the Stampede, said the company will
be bringing 47 horses to Hermiston.
Three of those horses have been sired by
six-time world champion bareback horse,
and six-time Canadian champion bareback
horse Grated Coconut. One of those horses,
Timely Delivery, was just named best

pede Rodeo, with Cody DeMoss scoring
