sentenced to 18 months probation, 90

restitution, plus court costs and fees;
pleaded guilty to Theft II; sentenced to
30 days jail and $100 ine.

•Ricardo Salvador Alvarez, 34,
Hermiston, pleaded guilty to felony
DUII; sentenced to 15 months Or-
egon Dept. of Corrections, 2 years
post-prison supervision, $2,000 ine
and permanent driver’s license sus-
pension, plus court costs and fees;
pleaded guilty to Reckless Driving
and Recklessly Endangering Another;
sentenced to 90 days jail-suspended
and $100 ine; pleaded guilty to three
counts of Driving While Suspended;

•Daniel Joseph Avila, 29, Irrigon,
pleaded guilty to Kidnapping II; sen-
tenced to 46 months Oregon Dept. of
Corrections, 3 years post-prison super-
vision, $200 ine and $4,800 ine-sus-
pended.
•Rebecca Raquel Ramirez, 25,
Hermiston, pleaded guilty to Posses-
sion of Methamphetamine; sentenced
to 6 months jail, 1 year post-prison su-
pervision, $500 ine, $1,500 ine-sus-
pended and 6 months driver’s license

Street, Hermiston, reported an
attempted burglary at his home. The
Umatilla County Sherif’’s Oice took
a report.
9:54 a.m. - A man who hit a
deer south of Love’s Travel Stop on
Tower Road near Boardman called
the Morrow County Sherif’s Oice
to inquire whether he could take the
carcass home. Sherif’s deputies were
unable to locate the deer, and told
the man he could not take the animal
home anyway.
10:28 a.m. - The owner of a
rental on North Main Street, Heppner,
reported the theft of a stove from
the home. Morrow County sherif’s
deputies are investigating.
12:16 p.m. - Umatilla police and
ire departments were called to a
gazebo on ire near the river at B and
Sixth streets.
•Timothy Edward Olea, 43, Hermis-
ton, pleaded no contest to Attempt to
Elude Police; sentenced to 18 months
probation, 90 sanction units, 30 max-
imum jail units, 80 hours community
service, $750 ine, $1,250 ine-sus-
pended and 90 days driver’s license

•Manuel Garcia Madrigal, 21, Pat-
erson, Wash., pleaded guilty to DUII;
sentenced to 30 days jail, 180 days
jail-suspended, 2 years probation, 80
hours community service, $1,000 ine
and 1 year driver’s license suspension,
plus court costs and fees.
•Christopher Lee Fowler, 31, Fed-
eral Way, Wash., pleaded guilty to
Possession of Methamphetamine;
sentenced to 18 months probation,

•Rebecca Jayne Cochell, 43, Herm-
iston, pleaded guilty to Theft III; sen-
tenced to $100 ine; pleaded guilty to
Criminal Trespass I; sentenced to 180
days jail-suspended, 2 years proba-
tion, 40 hours community service,
3:17 p.m. - A resident of East
Jennie Avenue, Hermiston, returned
home from a two-week trip out of
town and discovered his home had
been broken into and ransacked. He
requested contact from a Umatilla
County sherif’s deputy.
3:32 p.m. - An Auburn, Wash.,
man stopped at the viewpoint over-
looking Pendleton on Interstate 84 at
milepost 223 noticed a family of four
writing on the handrails of the covered
gazebo at the viewpoint. He said he took
photos of the writing and gave dispatch
a description of the family’s vehicle,
then followed them until he turned of
the freeway at Pilot Travel Center near
Stanield. An Oregon State Police trooper
stopped the family at Space Age Fuel,
77522 Highway 207, Hermiston, where
the family admitted to the vandalism
and agreed to pay for the damages.
4:05 p.m. - License plates were
reported stolen from a vehicle parked on
Eighth Street, Umatilla.
4:32 p.m. - The Heppner Fire De-
partment and Heppner ambulance were
called to the Morrow-Grant County OHV
Park, on Highway 207 south of Heppner,
for an ATV accident. One person had a
broken leg and the other had diiculty
breathing. They were transported to
Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner.
7:02 p.m. - A woman trapping
feral cats for a cat rescue organization
at Umatilla RV Park, 700 Sixth St.,
discovered a man who admitted to
poisoning cats. The man did so in front of
her before he knew who she worked for.
She requested contact from a Umatilla
police oicer.
8:18 p.m. - Employees of Rocket
Mart, 2398 N. First St., Hermiston,
requested contact from a Umatilla
County sherif’s deputy for a man who
was refusing to leave the property,
pacing around the parking lot and
screaming. The man left on foot toward
Fiesta Foods, and deputies were unable
to locate him.
10:26 p.m. - A resident of Paterson
Ferry Road, Irrigon, reported her son

taken a baseball bat to the walls. She

•Pendleton police were called to
Jack in the Box, 1904 S.W. Court Ave., for
a man who had passed out at the wheel
in the drive-through. Heath Austin

cited and released for driving under the
inluence of intoxicants and refusal of
intoxicant level test.
•The Morrow County Sherif’s
Oice arrested Marvin Alex Pourier, 52,

strangulation (aggravated assault) and
