Sentences
The following sentences have been
imposed in Umatilla County courts:
FELONY
•Joshua Michael Mendenhall, 36,
Stanield, pleaded guilty to Possession of
Methamphetamine; sentenced to 18 months
probation, 90 sanction units, 30 maximum
jail units, 80 hours community service, $500
ine, $2,000 ine-suspended and 6 months
driver’s license suspension.
•Jacob Michael Spaulding, 38, Umatilla,
pleaded guilty to Failure to Appear I; sen-
tenced to 2 years probation, 120 sanction
units, 60 maximum jail units, 100 hours
community service, $200 ine and $1,300
ine-suspended; pleaded guilty to Failure to
Appear II; sentence discharged.
•Andrew Michael Bennett, 38, Irrigon,
pleaded guilty to Public Indecency; sen-
tenced to 3 years probation, 180 sanction
units, 90 maximum jail units, 120 hours com-
munity service, $750 ine and $750 ine-sus-
pended, plus court costs and fees.
MISDEMEANOR
•Chelsey Diane Colpitts, 26, Hermiston,
pleaded guilty to DUII; sentenced to 20 days
jail, 180 days jail-suspended, 2 years proba-
tion, $1,000 ine and 1 year driver’s license
suspension, plus court costs and fees.
•Tirso Lopez Garcia, 23, Hermiston,
pleaded guilty to DUII: sentenced to 1 year
probation and enrollment in diversion pro-
gram, plus court costs and fees.
•Luis Emmanuel Licea Mendoza, 28,
Kennewick, Wash., pleaded guilty to Wildlife
Law Violation; sentenced to 180 days jail-sus-
pended, 2 years probation, $500 ine, $1,250
ine-suspended, $1,000 restitution and 3
years hunting license suspension.
•Harold Arthur Brogoitti, 75, Stan-
ield, pleaded guilty to Failure to Per-

6:17 p.m. - An onion grower on
Craig and West Spearman roads,
Hermiston, reported people are
stealing their onions and provided
the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office
with a license plate number for one
of the thieves.
8:58 p.m. - A dog attacked
someone riding horseback on Wil-
son Lane, Boardman. The Boardman
ambulance took the injured rider
to Good Shepherd Medical Center,
Hermiston.
TUESDAY, JULY 12
12:15 p.m. - Windows were
smashed during the night on sever-
al vehicles at Islas Auto Sales, 82070
N. Highway 395, Umatilla.
1:21 p.m. - Mail was stolen from
a mailbox at a home on West Elm
Avenue, Hermiston. The homeown-
er named a possible suspect.
5:55 p.m. - Thieves broke into
a pumphouse at a residence on
Buffalo Lane, Hermiston, and stole
a shotgun reloader belonging to
the landlord. The caller’s roommate
saw someone outside the home be-
tween 11 and 11:30 p.m. The Umatilla
County Sheriff’s Office took a theft
report.
7:02 p.m. - Umatilla police talk-
ed to a resident of Cowlitz Avenue
after the woman’s ex-husband
called police to report she had
called him and said “there is a hit
out for him and their two grown
children.”
8:16 p.m. - A resident of Vista
Park, 1800 N.E. 10th St., Hermiston,
reported a suspicious man at
the trailer park “flipped around
and sped out of the park” when
the caller tried to approach him.
The man then parked at Victory
Lighthouse Church, 1940 N.E. 10th
St., and started pulling things out
of his van and yelling. The caller
requested contact from a Umatilla
County sheriff’s deputy.
9:01 p.m. - A lifted 4-wheel-
drive pickup hit a telephone pole
head-on, backed up and drove
away, disrupting power on South-
shore Drive, Umatilla.
10:08 p.m. - Someone broke a
window in the front door of a home
on East Elm Street, Hermiston, and
also cut the plastic on the inside of
the window. The homeowner was
unsure whether anyone entered the
house. A Umatilla County sheriff’s
deputy took a report.
11:49 p.m. - Employees at the Ir-
rigon Shell Station, 300 E. Highway
730, reported a person came in and
screamed at them. Morrow County
sheriff’s deputies and Umatilla
police officers responded, but were
unable to locate the person.
MONDAY, JULY 11
10:03 a.m. - A resident of
Columbia Boulevard, Umatilla, re-
ported someone broke her windows
with eggs sometime during the
night. Another resident on Naches
Avenue, Umatilla, reported his
house was egged at 12:04 p.m.
12:05 p.m. - A rear license plate
was reported stolen from a 2000
Dodge Dakota pickup on Jeppeson
Lane, Hermiston.
12:31 p.m. - Three vehicles
crashed on Highway 395 near Fiesta
Foods in Hermiston and one of the
vehicles drove off, according to
a motorist involved in the crash.
There were no injuries and the
wreck didn’t block traffic, but a
silver Honda Prelude left the scene,
leaving a white Dodge Stratus and a
silver Chevy truck.
2:12 p.m. - A woman driving a
white Chevy Monte Carlo reached

6:19 p.m. - A man on Northwest
Church and North Main streets, Hep-
pner, was assaulted by a man who
pulled over his car, jumped out and
punched him. The Morrow County
Sheriff’s Office took a report.
6:41 p.m. - A cell phone was
stolen sometime July 5 from a camp
trailer on East View Drive, Herm-
iston. The caller named a possible
suspect.
8:08 p.m. - A group of people
were playing basketball on NE Alora
Drive, Hermiston, and a woman re-
ported the male driver of a vehicle
that had been parked nearby for
an hour tried to entice one of her
granddaughters in his vehicles with
candy.
8:28 p.m. - The Umatilla Police
Department investigated a reported
domestic assault at a home on
Southshore Drive.
