MONDAY
HFES medical calls — 9
8:41 a.m. - A job site foreman
reported the theft of a compa-
ny-owned Nissan Xterra from
Comfort Inn & Suites, 77514 S.
Highway 207, Hermiston. He said
someone took the car about 30
minutes earlier when he left it
running while he went inside the
store. He also said there were no
noticeable marks to identify the
car and there was no insurance on
the vehicle.
1:29 p.m. - Graffiti was report-
ed at Hermiston businesses.
2:18 p.m. - A concerned
onlooker reported a man parked
his car on the road going into
the Hermiston airport, got out of
the vehicle to urinate, almost fell
backward then started changing
his clothes in the roadway.
6:24 p.m. - An Echo woman
reported $1,600 missing from her
bank account and the withdrawal
happened in Portland.
8:48 p.m. - Stanfield police
received a report that someone
four days ago took a motor home
from an unknown location in Echo
and moved it to another unknown
location.
9:47 p.m. - A man told the
Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office his
mother was getting money from
her bank to pay his brother’s drug
debts otherwise “he would be
killed if he didn’t pay.”

HFES medical calls — 6
3:34 p.m. - A transformer at
Armand Larive Middle School set
out a “loud boom” before flames
poked through the transformer.
The flames were gone by the
time Hermiston Fire responded,
but the crew secured the area for
pedestrian safety until Umatilla
Electric Cooperative could handle
the situation.
4:38 p.m. - A woman reported
her dog was stolen from her
vehicle while it was parked at the
Hermiston Denny’s.
5:55: p.m. - Someone reported
a 20-year-old male walking in
a Hermiston alley took several
baggies of white powder out of
the inside of his sweatshirt and
put them in his backpack.
7:44 p.m. - The Umatilla County
Sheriff’s Office received a report
that a hoarder on North Cabana
Road, Hermiston, never lets dogs
out of a kennel and has about 100
cats, plus “junk all over and the
weeds are super overgrown.” The
house is in such a state, the caller
said, the owner does not live there
but comes over at night.

6:58 a.m. - A woman staying
at the Tillicum Inn, 1481 Sixth St.,
Umatilla, told police someone
slashed her vehicle’s tires during
the night.
11:58 a.m. - An older white man
driving a late model Dodge 2500
pickup dumped a white bag in a
dumpster on West Hermiston Ave,
Hermiston, according to a 9-1-1
caller, and kittens were in the bag,
2:45 p.m. - A Hermiston
resident reported someone egged
his sister’s Toyota Prius sometime
during the night or early morning.
3:50 p.m. — A resident of East
Browning Avenue reported her
jewelry box had been stolen —
sometime in the past two months.
6:12 p.m. - A woman on West
Columbia Lane, Hermiston, called
9-1-1- because her 33-year-old son
assaulted her husband.
9:07 p.m. - A woman on Lind
Road Hermiston, said an acquain-
tance took her blue 2000 Toyota
Corolla several days ago and has
not returned it.
10:40 p.m. - An employee of
Circle K, 1430 N. First St., Herm-
iston, stayed inside the business
until a customer, who threatened
violence, left in a dark colored
compact car.
FRIDAY
HFES medical calls — 14
9:30 a.m. - The Cozy Corner
Tavern, 198 E. Main St., Hermiston,
received a fake $100 bill Thursday
night.
10:31 a.m. - An employee with
Oregon Department of Human
Services’ division for seniors
and people with disabilities in
Hermiston asked for a Umatilla
County sheriff’s deputy to help her
serve a trespass notice to a prior
employee.
11 a.m. - A woman asked to talk
to a Hermiston officer about the
legality of operating a lemonade
stand at Northeast Covey Court
and Sixth Street, Hermiston.
12:40 p.m. - An excavator
struck a natural gas line while
digging a ditch across the
intersection of McConnell Lane
and Perez Lane. The owner of the
excavator noticed the smell of gas.
Cascade Natural Gas was able to
secure the gas leak, and Hermiston
Fire & Emergency Services blocked
traffic to the area until the leak
was controlled.
6:33 p.m. - A 9-1-1- caller
reported a man and woman were
fighting in a white van at West
Baggett and Sunshine lanes,
Hermiston.
9:17 p.m. - A juvenile female
walked on the sidewalk along
West Ridgeway Avenue, Hermis-
ton, when a dog jumped a fence
and knocked her down. She and
other juveniles kicked the dog to
fend it off. The dog grabbed her
leg but there were no puncture
wounds.
THURSDAY
HFES medical calls — 9
12:04 a.m. - A man sitting
outside of the 7-Eleven in
Hermiston soliciting alcohol from
customers of the store was asked
to leave.
12:31 a.m. - Hermiston
medics responded to a report of a
stabbing. The patient had a small
cut on the left shoulder and no
medical care was needed.
7:51 p.m. - A Hermiston resi-
dent reported she was the victim
of fraud for $140.
8:56 a.m. - A Hermiston res-
ident reported $1,500 was taken
from her bank account in Gresham.
Hermiston residents also reported
fraud at 9:55 a.m., 11:24 a.m., 1:10
p.m., 3:04 p.m. and 4:46 p.m.
8:13 a.m. - Atkinson Staffing
in Umatilla reported a window
broken out of a company vehicle
around 3 a.m.
3:00 p.m. - The Umatilla
County Sheriff’s Office received a
call from a man who shopped at
the Second Hand Store, N. Highway
395, Hermiston, and when he
returned home some of the items
were missing. He said when he
returned to the store to ask about
the missing items he was asked
to leave.
ARRESTS, CITATIONS
•Hermiston police arrested Hector
Montez, 32, of Hermiston, on three
warrants and for possession of metham-
phetamine.
•Umatilla County Sherif’s Oice
arrested Gustavo Macias Montejano,
31, of Hermiston, on a warrant for
felony fail to appear and on a charge
of irst-degree criminal possession of a
forged instrument.
•Hermiston police arrested Joshua
Robert Alley, 28, of Kennewick, for
possession of methamphetamine and
on two warrants.
•Umatilla police arrested Cristian
Fabian Reyes Paez, 37, of Hermiston, for
felony domestic violence fourth-degree
assault.
•Hermiston police arrested Marcos
Carballido Mosso, 28, no address provid-
ed, on two warrants and for possession
of methamphetamine.
•Hermiston police arrested Thomas
D. Warsley, 19, of Hermiston, for irst-de-
gree criminal possession of a forged
instrument, third-degree escape and
theft of lost/mislaid property.
•Hermiston police arrested Daniel
Lemus Macias, 24, of Hermiston, for
driving under the inluence of intox-
icants and driving while suspended/
revoked.
•Stanfield police arrested Mat-
thew David Austin, 60, no address
provided, for DUII.
Armed robbery suspect
sentenced to 70 months
The 24-year-old who
robbed Stanield’s Cen-
ter Market at gunpoint
has been sentenced to 70
months in prison.
Judge Daniel J. Hill on
May 10 sentenced Alfredo
Lopez Rodriguez, 24, to 70
months in prison with no
possibility for early release
after the Hermiston man
pleaded guilty to second-de-
gree robbery and coercion.

A 17-year-old Idaho
male stabbed a woman Satur-
day in a woman’s restroom at
a rest stop near Boardman.
Oregon State Police
Sgt. Tom Spicknall said the
woman’s injuries were not
life-threatening and police
arrested the teen and booked
him into the juvenile facility
at the Northern Oregon Re-
gional Correctional Facilities,
The Dalles.
The case is an active in-
vestigation, Spicknall said,
so he could not release many
details. Court records identify
the suspect as Talon James
Davis of Clarkston, Idaho,
and he turns 18 in June.
The Morrow County Sher-
iff’s Ofice conirmed a 9-1-1
call at 3:44 p.m. reported the
attack in the restroom at the
state rest stop off the west-
bound side of Interstate 84
near milepost 161, just out-
side Boardman. Spicknall
said the teen used a knife,
and an ambulance took the
victim, Sandra Byers, 51,
to Good Shepherd Medical
Center, Hermiston.
Good Shepherd spokes-
man Nick Bejarano said the
hospital released Byers on
Monday morning.

state police criminal division
