He died on April 23, 2016, in Richland, Washing- ton, at the age of 63 years. Dennis attend- ed many different schools growing Keener up due to moving frequently for his father’s work. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Shawnee, Kansas. Den- nis had several jobs be- fore moving to Wyoming, to work in the oil fields. He then went to work for what is now Williams Gas & Pipeline where he has worked for the last 30 years. He trans- ferred to the Hermiston, Oregon, area and then in 1998 settled in Paterson, Washington, where he has lived since. Dennis was united in marriage to Lori Wiers- ma on October 3, 2003, in Bend, Oregon. Dennis was an active member of Our Lady of Angels Cath- olic Church, Hermiston, Oregon. Dennis’s faith and love for his church and family were his top priorities. He cared deep- ly for his fellow co-work- ers. Dennis enjoyed play- ing golf, jumping in the car and going on a trip, and simply sitting on the porch and looking at the river and watching the sunset. Dena Lee Emery, age 87, of Albany, Oregon, passed away on February 29, 2016, at Timberview Care Center. She was born to the late Ed- ward Vern Gabriel and Emma McFarland Gabriel on Jan- uary 14, 1929, in Stanield, Oregon, and was one of 11 children. Dena is survived by her sister Billie Mottice. Dena graduated from Stanield High School before attending Eastern Oregon College of Education where she graduated from their sec- retarial school. She met her husband, Quenten Lowell Emery, while working at the Umatilla Army Depot. They lived in several cities in Cal- ifornia; Carson City, Nevada; Olympia, Washington, and Altoona, Iowa, and Dena re- turned to Oregon with her two youngest children in vehicle accident killed the vehicle’s driver and sheared a power pole. Fireighters advised the owner that it was a no burn day, and she extinguished the ire. 6:26 p.m. - An Echo man on East Gerome Street reported someone stole his ishing pole. 8:00 p.m. - A man in a green Ford Explorder knocked out the windows of a Toyota parked at Golden Palace before taking of. 10:58 p.m. - Umatilla police took a report that an ex-employee of the Riverside Sports Bar & Lounge, 1501 Sixth St., keyed two cars the previous night. the three-story building and dis- placed ive families. 1975. She resumed her work for the Depot and retired in 1993. In her lifetime, Dena met and entertained governors, state senators and various celebrities. She had a very full life. She loved to cook, en- joyed entertaining and play- ing bridge with friends, fam- ily and co-workers. She also loved going on long walks, reading and spending time with her family and relatives. Dena had four children: Rae Ann, 62, La Grande; Rhonda Fay, deceased; Ro- berta Jean, 54, La Grande; and Roy Allen, 53, Corvallis. She has six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Dena requested no services. The family thanks the staff of Timberview Care Center for their care and support of Dena during her last few years. SUNDAY HFES medical calls — 8 8:22 a.m. - The Morrow County Sherif’s Oice received a report of a man wearing black lying in the road just west of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 78922 Olson Road, Boardman. Sherif’s deputies were unable to ind the man. 9:43 a.m. - A Jeep owner reported his vehicle was stolen from East Main Street in Hermiston. 3:58 p.m. - A woman on West Fourth Road, Irrigon, reported a pit bull dog jumped into the back of her vehicle and attacked her dog. The caller said they separated the dogs, and the pit bull became friendly. She requested contact from the Morrow County Sherif’s Oice. 4:02 p.m. - Someone stole a child’s bike from outside a Hermiston apartment. 4:45 p.m. - A semi driver west- bound on Interstate 84 near Board- man reported another semi driver harassed him on the freeway. At 6:25 p.m., another caller said a white sedan sped and tailgated him in the same area. And a third caller at 7:09 complained two empty log trucks and a semi were “weaving and playing cat and mouse” while speeding, also in the same vicinity. The actions resulted in a warning from law enforcement. 8:26 p.m. - Someone stole the DMV stickers of a license plate of a vehicle on West Orchard Avenue in Hermiston. ARRESTS, CITATIONS •Hermiston police arrested Josie Lee Pritchard, 26, of Hermiston, for identity theft, second-degree forgery, second-degree theft and conspiracy. •Morrow County Sherif’s Oice arrested Jason James Abbott, 24, of Irrigon, for felony attempt to elude police and two counts of reckless endangering.
