WHATEVER THE TIME OF YEAR
Dale Peters
Meet Dale Peters, Adjunct Mathematics Instructor, BMCC Pendleton.
Dale has been with BMCC for four years and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education
with an Advanced Math and Physical Education endorsement.
Dale’s Favorite thing about teaching for the College: “Teaching at the college level is by
far the best teaching environment. The students, for the most part, are highly motivated
and see their education as a key component to their dreams. At BMCC, the smaller class
size even magnifies this factor. It is so enjoyable to work with these individuals and
hopefully make a difference.”
Dale has a small farm 14 miles north of Pendleton that has been in the family for four
generations. During off hours, he drives some tractor, hoes some weeds, plants some
seed, and “plays some really ugly golf!”
Ashley Benson
Meet Ashley Benson, English Instructor, BMCC Pendleton.
This is Ashley’s first year at BMCC. She has a Master of Arts degree in English Literature.
She earned a double-major in French & English as an undergrad at Western Washington
University.
Ashley’s favorite thing about teaching at the College: “I love watching my students get it,
and gain the confidence to write strong essays.”
When you need us we will be there for
you and your family.

Outside of work, Ashley spends a lot of time baking. She likes the challenge of baking things
that people normally only buy at a bakery.
Dawn Kennison-Kerrigan
Meet Dawn Kennison-Kerrigan, Director of Early Childhood Education.
“I took this position because I was ready for a different challenge. There is something new
each day as I work with peers, students and county agencies to improve early childhood
education ages 0 to 8.”
Before accepting this position, Dawn was a Title I teacher, an instructional coach and an
elementary teacher for a total of 26 years in the Umatilla and Hermiston school districts.
She loves working with students of all ages, and she especially enjoys walking on campus
and running into former students who are continuing their educations.
Dawn has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from the University of Oregon and a
Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix.
Dawn’s favorite thing about working at the College: “I am enjoying getting to know the
faculty and staff, and inspiring students who are choosing to go into such a rewarding field.
A successful start in early childhood education is key to success in our educational
system.”
