Pursuit begins with bank
alarm and ends in arrest
A false alarm at an Irri-
gon bank resulted in an arrest
anyway after a driver Àed the
scene when police showed up.
The Morrow County Sher-
iff’s Of¿ce reported that dep-
uties responded to an alarm
call at the Bank of (astern
Oregon, 230 S First St. in
Irrigon, around 8:18 a.m. on
Wednesday. As they arrived,
a black Nissan pickup truck
sped away from the scene
and Deputy Colleen Neubert
gave chase while Deputy
Todd Siex spoke with bank
employees and determined it
was a false alarm.
According to a news re-
lease from the sheriff’s of¿ce,
Neubert attempted to perform
a traf¿c stop after the truck did
not obey the stop sign at South
First Street and Southeast Wy-
oming Avenue. After the vehi-
cle failed to pull over and ran
a second stop sign, Neubert
informed dispatch she was
involved in a pursuit south-
bound on Division Street.
The pursuit covered sev-
eral county roads and cut
across Interstate 84 and onto
private property owned by
the GreenWood Resources,
reaching speeds of up to 95
miles per hour.
Deputies arrested, Law-
rence Allen Perrin, 39, of Ir-
rigon and charged him with
felony elude, misdemeanor
driving while suspended,
reckless driving, reckless
endangerment and criminal
trespass. He was lodged at
8matilla County Jail with
$27,000 bail. The sheriff’s
of¿ce reported that more
charges are pending.

of Irrigon were released after
questioning.
SUNDAY
9:45 a.m. - A caller on Gander Way
Lane, Hermiston, asked law enforcement
to check on a male wearing camouflage
and walking while carrying a revolver.
10:01 a.m. - A man on East Loop Road,
Hermiston, reported he will kill the neigh-
bor’s dog if it keeps killing his chickens. He
asked to speak to a sheriff’s deputy about
his rights to protect property.
4:33 p.m. - A man walked into a
woman’s residence at Hat Rock RV Park,
Hermiston, stole her computer and left.
SATURDAY
2:14 a.m. - A Stanfield mother
reported a man unplugged power to her
and her daughter’s mobile home, and
though she plugged it back in she was
concerned because the man “has been
running around the park with a baseball
bat chasing people no one can see.”
12:09 p.m. - A Umatilla woman called
for police to remove her ex-boyfriend
who was passed out on her bed. She
said she was afraid because of previous
physical altercations with him.
7:31 p.m. - A Umatilla landlord told
police someone hit her tenant in the face
with a rock. The victim declined medical
help and the landlord described a vehicle
that may have been involved.
10:22 p.m. - A Umatilla woman asked
police to have her neighbor on John Day
Street turn down his loud music.
FRIDAY
10:58 a.m. - Someone stole a TV from
a room at Umatilla Inn & Suites, 1370 Sixth
St., Umatilla.
11:39 a.m. - A caller reported possible
dog neglect at Country Squire Estates on
Tumbleweed Lane, Hermiston.
12:49 p.m. - A Hermiston-area woman
reported people breaking into her prop-
erty on North Ott Road, Hermiston, and
wanted to ask a Umatilla County sheriff’s
deputy if she can shoot an intruder.
1:58 p.m. - A Hermiston-area man
wanted to speak to law enforcement
about a woman “posting slandering
and false information about him on
Facebook.”
THURSDAY
5:42 a.m. - A man reported a male
tried to steal his vehicle on East Punkin
Center Road, Hermiston, so he confronted
the would-be thief with a gun. He said
the male took off west on Punkin Center
wearing a tattered flannel jacket and his
brown eyes had dilated pupils.
7:03 a.m. - A Heppner man on
Northeast Center Street reported the theft
of his 24-foot trailer and said he noticed a
suspicious woman ”casing his building”
the day before.
8:23 a.m. - The Umatilla County
Sheriff’s Office received a report of a
break-in at a home on the 33000 block
of Koester Lane, Stanfield. The incident is
under investigation.
8:27 a.m. - A caller reported “creepy
people” walking along the creek behind
her house on North Main Street, Heppner.
5:20 p.m. - A Umatilla woman report-
ed she returned from walking her dog and
found someone threw a rock through her
bedroom window.
9:44 p.m. - Teen males made threats
over the phone to an Irrigon man. The
man reported he was worried about his
father because the teens said they were
coming to the house, possibly armed.

iff’s Office about homeless people living
near the Umatilla River at Bridge Road,
Umatilla, because “they are defecating
everywhere, cutting down trees, and
trashing the river bank.”
4:21 p.m. - A Umatilla County tax
assessor reported he went to an address
on Umatilla River Road, Umatilla, and a
woman there was belligerent, told him
to get off property and said if anyone
from the office came back she would
shoot them. He said he wanted to pursue
charges against the homeowners.
9:22 p.m. - A Umatilla resident report-
ed a neighbor on Hemlock Court played
music loud enough to rattle her windows
and her children could not sleep.
TUESDAY
3:09 p.m. - A Hermiston man on West
Elm Avenue alerted law enforcement to
people in a white pickup pulling a “big
trailer full of junk” may be going to dump
all the trash in bushes by the Umatilla
River.
5:45 p.m. - A Hermiston-area woman
reported her significant other was “tear-
ing everything up” at their home and
“throwing all of her belongings outside.”
8:20 p.m. - A Umatilla woman told
emergency dispatch she would meet
law enforcement at McNary Market on
Willamette Avenue because the driver of
a red vehicle came to her residence and
pointed a gun with a laser attached.

9:06 a.m. - A man in Despain Gulch
Road, Pendleton, asked to speak to a
Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy about the
possible theft of his mail. A second caller
at 2:49 p.m. reported he was the victim of
a mail theft at Feedville and Despain Gulch
roads, Stanfield, and other people could

arrested Michael Clark Long, 29, of Board-
man, for driving under the influence of
intoxicants after he drove his vehicle into
a ditch at Baker Land and Ella Road, Ione.
His blood alcohol level was .23 percent
— just shy of three times the .08 percent
legal limit.
•Hermiston police arrested Juan
Rodriguez Pacheco, 44, of Irrigon, for
possession of methamphetamine and on
four warrants.
•Hermiston police arrested Ramiro
Roque Mendoza, 37, of Hermiston, for
attempt to flee in a vehicle, reckless
driving and duii.
•Boardman police arrested Mar-
icela Gonzalez Granados, 41, no address
provided, for third-degree robbery,
second-degree theft, coercion, menacing,
third-degree sexual abuse, harassment
and interfering with making a report.
•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office
arrested Chad Williams Wynn, 45, of
Pendleton, for first-degree burglary,
unauthorized use of a vehicle and sec-
ond-degree theft after an Echo woman
at 1:42 p.m. reported a man was in her
house and he had gone through all of her
belongings.
•Hermiston police arrested Luke Sloan
Nye, 60, of Hermiston, for second-degree
assault and on a warrant for failure to appear.
•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrest-
ed William Patrick Freeman, 32, no address
provided, for second-degree mischief and
violating a stalking order after a woman
reported Freeman kicked in her door, took
things out of the refrigerator and left.
•Morrow County Sheriff’s Office
arrested Chris K. Klein, 31, of Lexington,
for domestic violence harassment and
menacing and second-degree disorderly
conduct.

•Umatilla police arrested Rick
Henry Cearns, 25, no address provided, for
unlawful use of a weapon, third-degree
criminal mischief, menacing, second-de-
gree disorderly conduct and interfering
with a peace officer.
