Megan Cline
Meet Megan Cline, Student Success Coach, BMCC Hermiston.
Megan began with BMCC in 2004 as an advisor and continues helping students as a
success coach at the BMCC Hermiston location. Her Bachelor’s degree is in Hospitality and
Tourism Management from Brigham Young University-Hawaii.
Megan’s favorite thing about working at the College: “I love working as a success coach. I
like to meet the students and enjoy learning about their varied backgrounds and even more
varied career goals. It is fun to be a part of the educational journey, as a student starts in
basic courses and continues on through degree completion. I love to watch as they change
and progress.”
Megan and her husband, Michael, have 3 children. She says she is happy to be home with
them during the daytime hours. They like to play board games, go on walks, and cook/bake
together. She also loves to attend her children’s sporting events and activities. She likes to
read when she has time (who has that with three kids?) and do crafty projects.
Cynthia Purvis
Meet Cynthia Purvis, Adjunct College Prep Instructor, BMCC Boardman.
Cynthia began working at BMCC this year and has a History Broad Area Teaching degree
from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Wash. She is a certified secondary level
Social Studies teacher in Washington and Oregon.
Cynthia’s favorite thing about working at the College: “Working with adult learners is a new
career area for me and I am excited for this opportunity. I really enjoy my department and
fellow co-workers. Attending the 2015 GED Summit in Portland last November was
wonderful and renewed my passion to work within education.”
Outside of teaching Cynthia is extremely busy. She also substitute teaches in the
Hermiston and Morrow County school districts, takes online graduate classes for a Master’s
of Curriculum and Technology Integration, and is a volunteer Fire Corp member with her local
fire department. She also enjoys fishing, camping and watching movies with her boyfriend.
