Mischa Meyer, 10, of Hermiston performs Sunday, Aug. 30, at the Oregon State
Fair in Salem. She performed in 2014 at the State Fair in the talent competition and
was invited back this year as a paid performer. Meyer is a student at Highland Hills
Elementary School. Her mother, Stacy Meyer, said Mischa sang and performed a
dance that she choreographed herself in her appearance in Salem.

canceled its September
breakfast.
The next breakfast
is Saturday, Oct. 3. In
addition, lunch will be
served, and there will be
a flea market. The event

Blvd., Hermiston. The
breakfast costs $6 per
person. Lunch prices
vary depending on what’s
purchased.

Special Education Re-
gional Conference.
The conference is Sat-

Commission seeks
grant applications
The Oregon Heritage
Commission is offering
grants for qualified proj-
ects for the conservation,
development and inter-
pretation of Oregon’s cul-
tural heritage.
Awards typically range
between
$5,000
and
$20,000.
Projects can include
anything related to Ore-
gon heritage, and priority
will be given to projects
that preserve, develop or
interpret threatened heri-
tage resources or heritage
resources of statewide
significance.
Projects may include
theatrical performances,
collections preservation,
exhibits, oral history
projects, public education
events, organizational ar-
chives projects, films and
more.
The application dead-
line is Wednesday, Sept.
