Two people died Thursday night in a head-on collision between a 2005 Subaru Impreza and a 2015
Chrylser 200 on Interstate 84 in Boardman.
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2
• A caller reported a woman was trying to get into the
back door of a residence on East Beebe Avenue.
• A business on North First Street reportedly received
a counterfeit $20 bill.
• Six or seven male juveniles were reportedly throw-
ing rocks at a female juvenile on Southeast Ninth Street.
• Someone reportedly stole a vehicle on Bridgeport
Avenue in Umatilla.
• A caller reported hearing two gunshots on Covina
Court in Umatilla.

ported her passenger and
3-year-old niece, Em-
malee Kitchen of Hermis-
ton, died at the scene.
The crash led to the
closure of the eastbound
lane of the interstate for
approximately five hours
for the investigation and
removal of the wreckage.

rigon Fire Department
responded and assisted,
along with the Oregon
Department of Transpor-
tation.
State police also re-
ported the cause of the
crash is still under inves-

• A cellphone was reportedly stolen on North First
Street.
• A caller reported his neighbor was threatening him
with a knife outside of a residence on West Beebe Avenue.
• People with fl ashlights were reportedly walking
around in a vacant residence on West Walls Road.

two lives — a 23-year-old
man from Boardman and a
young girl from Hermiston.
The call for emergency
services went out at about
9:25 p.m. to respond to a
head-on crash on Inter-
state 84 near milepost 165
between the downtown
and Port of Morrow exits.
Oregon State Police re-
ported Friday morning the
initial investigation indi-
cated a 2005 Subaru Im-
preza was westbound on
I-84 when it crossed the
median for an unknown
reason. The Subaru struck
an eastbound 2015 Chrys-
ler 200 head-on.

was driving the Subaru
and died at the scene. The
23-year-old was a 2010
graduate of Riverside

iston Police Department on South First Street regarding
fraudulent charges to his bank account.
• An off -duty offi cer reported four juveniles were
fi ghting on North First Street.
• A 17-year-old reportedly threatened to blow up a
truck outside of a residence on Northeast Misty Drive.
• Three men were reportedly fi ring guns into the air
on Lind Road.
• A spotlight bulb and a gas can were reportedly
stolen from a residence on South Main Street in Stanfi eld.

Paradiso, 44, of Irrigon, on two
felony warrants out of Wash-

tacted Daniel Roy Walchli, 41,
of Irrigon, who was unlawful-
ly at Greenwood Resources,
Boardman, and arrested and
released him for trespassing.
The Morrow County Sher-
iff’s Of¿ ce also reported it
recovered the 2006 Honda mo-
torcycle and returned it to the
owner, but a third suspect À ed
the scene.
The sheriff’s of¿ ce wants
help ¿ nding Wallace Gary
Smith, 45, who faces a charge
of ¿ rst-degree theft. The 8.S.
Marshal’s Service also wants
Smith on a federal felony
warrant out of Arlington, Vir-
ginia, for probation violation
for theft of government prop-
