Barbara Ann Clark was
born on April 19, 1935, in
Decatur, Illinois, to parents
Lawrence Dale and Mary
Elizabeth Sutter Hamilton.
She died on July 25,
2015, in Hermiston,
Oregon, and rejoined
her husband of near-
ly 60 years, at the
age of 80 years.
Barbara
was
raised in North
Carolina, Florida Clark
and Illinois. Bar-
bara was united in mar-
riage to Louis L. Clark on
June 10, 1955, in Decatur,
Ill. She worked in various
office positions includ-
ing executive assistant to
the hospital administrator
at Sisters of St. Francis.
They lived in Illinois un-
til 1987 when they moved
to Hermiston, Oregon, to
be near their family. Bar-
bara was the office man-
ager for her son-in-law,
Thomas Farney, at his
surgery practice until re-
tiring in 2001.
She was a member of the
Eastern Star, Women of the
Moose, Elks Emblem Club,
had served as president
of the PTA in Illinois, and
worked alongside and sup-
ported her husband Louis in
his many Shrine activities.
Barbara enjoyed playing
pinochle, cooking, knitting,
traveling, and entertaining
family and friends.
She is survived by her
daughters
Mari-
anne Farney and
husband
Thomas,
Hermiston,
Ore.,
and Diane Mueggler
and husband Scott,
Kennewick, Wash.;
son David Clark,
Hermiston,
Ore.;
four grandchildren:
Daniel (Scarlet), Annama-
rie (Lewis), Barbi (Devin)
and Caitlin (Beth); brother
James D. Hamilton, Deca-
tur, Ill.; and sisters Linda
Krska and Bonnie Seger,
both of Sun City, Fla.
Barbara was preceded in
death by her husband Lou-
is L. Clark on March 17,
2015, and by her parents.
Mass of Christian burial
was held on Monday, Au-
gust 3, 2015, at Our Lady
of Angels Catholic Church,
Hermiston, Oregon.
Burial will follow at
the Hermiston Cemetery,
Hermiston, Oregon.

Florence ‘Cricket’ Miller
Las Vegas, Nev.
August 24, 1962-July 24, 2015
Florence Miller, known
to her family and friends
as Cricket, peacefully
passed way with family and
friends by her side on July
24, 2015. Cricket
blessed this world on
August 24, 1962; she
was born in Yakima,
Washington.
Cricket
attend-
ed Hermiston High
School. She was
proud to be a mem- Miller
ber of the cheer-
leading team for the
wrestling team her
junior year. On Janu-
ary 13, 1979, her life
took a big turn when
a semi truck collided
with her school bus.
She would now be Miller
living her life in a
wheelchair.
She adjusted to life in a
wheelchair with such cour-
age, optimism and faith.
She did not let it get her
down. Her warm loving
smile could brighten up any
room.
She did not let that
wheelchair slow her down.
She graduated with her
high school class. She then
went on to attend UNLV
and graduated in 1999.
She worked at Thomas and
Mack for 22 years. She
loved helping children and
was a volunteer for CASA
in Las Vegas. In 1993 she
was honored with the Clark
County Volunteer of the
Year award for her work
with CASA.
Cricket enjoyed acting
and went to acting school.
She was in a pilot for a sit-
com and was a extra in the
movie “Indecent Proposal.”
There are no
words to say thanks
to Cricket’s class-
mates and the people
of Eastern Oregon
for all the love and
support you gave her
all these years.
Cricket is pre-
ceded in death by
her mother, Naomi
Standefer,
father
Tony Standefer, and
grandparents Perry
and Florence Arb.
She is survived by
her brothers John
Clemons and his
wife Bonnie of
Herriman, Utah, and Per-
ry Clemons and his wife
Becky of Oakridge, Or-
egon; sister Terry Harris
and her husband Tom of
Thompson Falls, Montana;
many nieces and nephews
and great-nieces and -neph-
ews; Calvin, her beloved
cat; and many friends.
There will be a potluck
memorial in Hermiston,
August 23 at 2:00 p.m. at
816 E. Main Street, Herm-
iston, Oregon.
The HHS Class of 1980
is starting a scholarship
fund in Cricket’s name. In
lieu of À owers please do-
nate to the Cricket Miller
Scholarship Fund in care of
Hermiston Bulldogs Boost-

died Tues-
day, July 28, 2015, in
Hermiston, Oregon.
Memorial service was
held Monday, August
3, 2015, at the chapel
of Burns Mortuary of
Hermiston. Graveside
service with military Taylor
honors were held
Monday, August 3 at the
Mayville Cemetery in May-
ville, Oregon.
He was born February
20, 1926, in Twickenham,
Oregon, the son of Ray and
Avis Hawk Taylor. Bob was
raised on the family farm in
Mayville, Oregon. He attend-
ed school in Mayville and
Fossil, graduating in 1943.
Bob enlisted into the United
States Marine Corps at the
age of 17. He served as an
amphibian tank driver for the
First Marine Division. While
in the Marines, he participat-
ed in the invasion of Peleliu
and Okinawa. Bob was proud
of being a Marine and said,
“Once a Marine always a
Marine”.
After the war, Bob joined
a sheep shearing crew and
traveled throughout the west-
ern states. He always said his
job was being a wool stomp-
er. Bob worked on several
ranches as ranch foreman in-
cluding Smith and Sons and
Wilson Ranches in Wheeler
and Gilliam County.
On February 26, 1949,
Bob married Luella Schmidt
in Goldendale, Washington.
They raised their two sons,
Bob Jr. and Bill, on those
ranches. While liv-
ing in Fossil
he served as
County Depu-
ty Marshal for
the area dances
and the coun-
ty fair. Upon
leaving the ranch,
Bob went to work
at Kinzua Corpora-
tion. The couple then
moved to Lexington,
Oregon, where Bob
served as mayor for
eight years. In 2010,
Bob and Luella
moved to Sun Terrace Assist-
ed Living in Hermiston.
Bob was a life member of
the VFW Post #4750 and the
First Marine Division Associ-
ation. He was also a member
of the American Legion Post
#0087, and Willows Lodge
IOOF of Heppner, Oregon.
Bob loved spending time
hunting elk and deer.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, and his sisters
Alpha McKenzie and Mary
Sargent. Survivors include
his wife of 66 years, Luella
Taylor of Hermiston, Ore-
gon; sons Bob Taylor and
his wife Darla of Othello,
Washington, and Bill Taylor
and his wife Colleen of Baker
City, Oregon; four grandchil-
dren, Traci Davis (Tom) of
Weatherboard, Texas, Thad
Taylor (Tami) of Othello,
Heidi Lagao (Phil) of Sisters,
Oregon, and Casey Taylor
(Tera) of Baker City; and 11
great-grandchildren.

loved ones

earth on July
31, 2015. He passed
at his home in Char-
bonneau. He was 90.
Phill was born
on June 6, 1925,
in Heppner, Ore-
gon. He attended
school in Heppner Cohn
and graduated from
Whitman College in Wal-
la Walla, Washington. He
served in the Navy as a ra-
dar specialist. In 1948 he
married Marian Andrews
and together they had 4
children, Teresa Cohn-Net-
ter, Sheryl Gannon, Phillip
Andrew Cohn and Eliza-
beth Cohn.
Phill had a successful
livestock business and later
took his talented business
ethics into real estate. His
business ventures includ-
ed Cohn Livestock, C and
B Livestock, Su-
perior Farms,
Pilgrims Pan-
try Inn, Blue
Mountain
Forest Prod-
ucts and An-
drews Man-
agement.
Phill was a very
kind, gentle and true
friend. His gifts were
many and his gen-
erosity unmatched.
He will be greatly
missed by family
and his vast array of
friends and acquaintances.
Phill is survived by his
four children and was pre-
deceased by his wife, Mar-
ian. His incredible will for
living should inspire us all.
A memorial service will be
held at St. Francis of Assisi
Episcopal Church in Wil-
sonville on Friday, August
7, at 3:00 p.m.
