Children’s art
activities extended
Desert Arts Council an-
nounces the extension of
its free Kid’s Art Activities
through Saturday, July 25.
The activities take place
from 9 a.m. to noon Sat-
urdays at the McKenzie
Park gazebo in Hermiston.
Sandra Spencer, artist in-
structor, will be doing var-
ious fun and educational art
projects with children ages
6-17 years. All supplies are
provided. It is a drop in,
make it and take it home ac-

swim day to service
members
The city of Hermiston
is offering a free swim day
to members of the military
with a valid ID card from
11:10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July
5 at the Hermiston Fami-
ly Aquatic Center to thank
them for their service to the
country.

celebration slated
The city of Hermiston is
hosting its annual Fourth of
July festivities from 1 p.m.
to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, July
4, at Butte Park in Hermis-
ton. The day will feature
food, live music, games and
entertainment. From 7 p.m.
to 10:30 p.m. there will be
a Stars & Stripes Pool Par-
ty at the Hermiston Family
Aquatic Center. The cost is
$10 for children 2 to 14 and
$14 for people 15 years and
older. The party includes
a barbecue dinner, games
and a guaranteed parking
