Pet of the week
Today's Weather
Hi, my name is Ottie. I am a male Lab/
border collie-mix available for adoption at
the Humane Society of Eastern Oregon Pet
Rescue in Hermiston.
My mom came to the shelter pregnant.
I am one of a litter of seven puppies, and
I need a new home. I am between 6 and 7
ZHHNV ROG DQG , KDYH KDG P\ ¿UVW VHW RI
shots. I can be adopted for $150. I come
with a free vet exam and a three-day re-
turn policy. If I am neutered at 6 months of
age, my owner will receive a $50 refund.
If you are interested in welcoming Ottie or
his litter mates into your home, please stop
by the humane society at 1844 N.W. Geer
Road, Hermiston, or call 541-564-6222.

According to a press
release, the bond was ap-
proved by voters in 1998
to build the new Umatilla
High School. Last fall, the
district started the process
of lowering the interest rate
on the bond, essentially like

better interest rate. The pro-
cess began in September,
and the new loan closed
in mid April. In the long
run, taxpayers will pay less
with the lower interest rate,
something the district is
hoping they will appreciate.
“We want to show tax-
payers that we are doing

cally responsible with their
money,” Durfey said.

The Farm-City Pro Rodeo
announced Thursday it has
entered the liquor business.

Eight is a trademark owned
by Farm-City Pro Rodeo
Company and named after
the music venue at the arena.
Indio Spirits Distillery of
Portland is creating, bottling
and selling the product.
