Betty A. Wilson was born
on October 9, 1953, in Yaki-
ma, Washington, to parents
Harry and Iona Lovell Rich-
ardson. She died on March
31, 2015, at her home
in Hermiston, Ore-
gon, surrounded by
her family at the age
of 61 years.
Betty was raised
and attended schools
in Royal City, Wash-
ington. She graduat- Wilson
ed from Royal City
High School in the class of
1972. Betty was united in
marriage to Wayne Wilson
on June 10, 1972, in Othel-
lo, Washington. They lived
in Royal City until mov-
ing to Phoenix, Arizona, in
1986 and then to Hermiston,
Oregon, in 1989 where they
have lived since.
Betty worked as a teach-
er’s aide at Highland Hills
Elementary before working
as the secretary at Armand
Larive Middle School. She
later transferred to Sand-
stone Middle School when
it opened, where she has
worked since. Betty enjoyed
her time with her family and
was a very supportive Mom
and Grandma. She enjoyed
traveling with her sisters
and playing bunco.
She is survived by her
husband, Wayne Wilson,
Hermiston, Ore.; daugh-
ters Melanie Potter, Med-
ical Lake, Wash., Lizzie
Arnold and husband Jacob,
Hermiston, Ore., and
Jenni Riffel and hus-
band Roger, Omaha,
Neb.; son Dennis
Wilson and wife
Karla, Pasco, Wash.;
sisters Clara “Lulu”
Paulette, Hermiston,
Ore., Patti Thomas,
Moses Lake, Wash.,
and Jenni Potter, Hermiston,
Ore.; “stepsister” Vicki Ball,
Hermiston, Ore.; grandchil-
dren Cami, Keagan, Kodie,
Tayler, Ryan, Shayla, Tyson,
Teegan and Charlie; and
several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Betty was preceded in
death by her parents; a sis-
ter, Nancy Beckley; and a
brother, Buck Richardson.
A celebration of life ser-
vice will be held on Satur-
day, April 4, 2015, at 1:00
p.m. at the Sandstone Mid-
dle School commons, 400
N.E. 10th St., Hermiston,
