east to make a circuit of the large
centers of manufacture, chemical

Purpose of Derry's trip is to

contacts with firms which might
logically make plant investments

TIRE INCREASE
NOT EXPECTED
The advent of warmer weather
will doubtless show an upswing in
demand for passenger car tires,
Haroid G. Rankin, OPA rationing
board chairman, said today, but
an increase in passenger tire pro­
duction is not anticipated.
Rankin said the demand for
truck tires will probably be great­
er than at any time since ration­
ing started, but that no increase in
quota is expected in either the
large or smaller truck tire sizes.
He emphasized need for recapping
and other conservation measures.
