J. A. Shoun was a Heppner visi­
tor Mondav and the Lyle Mulkeys
went to Heppner Tuesday. Mr.
Mulkey is to take his physical ex­
amination at this time.
Fred Houghton took a load of
R E A. members to attend the R. E.
A. meeting in Hermiston Tuesday
afternoon.
Finley Graybeal of Gillander
& Burroughs was an Irrigon visi­
tor Tuesday.
Sinice Moore of The Dalles was
an Irrigon visitor Monday. He is
working with the police force now.
Miss Lavern Duus, student nurse
spent Sunday with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs Herman Duus.
Mrs. H. W. Grim got back from
The Dalles Monday where she had
been to see her father, George Hux
who is quite ill in a The Dalles hos­
pital. She also visited the Adren
Allen family while there.
The E. R. Schneiders left Tues­
day for Spray where they will at­
tend a fellowship meeting and on
to Dayville, Mitchell and Prairie
City during the week he is to be
gone.
The Wallace Mendes are leaving
the 15th of October for their old
home in Illinois. They came out
here in February and settled on
the F. C. Fredrickson place that
they had purchased some time be­
fore.
Frank Leicht, seaman 1st class,
is on his way to Irrigon from The
Dalles. He has been gone in the
service of the navy since Novem­
ber, 1942. He has been in the
South and Central Pacific most of
that time.
The Orange Lantern carnival
was a huge success. Hundreds of
people attended. The queen, Lor­
etta I, was the senior’s candidate.
Each class in high school and the
grade school elected a candidate
for queen and the class who sold
the most tickets got their queen
elected. The seniors won.
Mr. Elliot is attending the edu­
cational conference at Salem for
all the principals of the state. Miss
Eddy, the third and fourth grade
teacher, is taking Prof. Elliott's
place until he returns.
Irrigon plays a football game
with Umatilla at Irrigon Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Moberly and
five children spent Saturday with
her mother. Mrs. Lee Smith. Thev
are moving from Freewater to Mo-
lone. Wn„ where Mr. Moberly has
employment.
Little Sammie Umiker had the
misfortune to fall while swinging
and crack her colar bone. She was
taken to Hermiston for first aid.
Miss Hazel Osborn and Miss Ty-
the Presbyterian church Tuesday,
lena Dike are holding services in
Wednesday. Thursday and Friday
nights at 8 p. m.

score being 26 to 0 in favor of the
Stanfield team. The Irrigon team
did not have any substitutes.
Mr. and Mrs. Van Cleve and son
Vernon were Sunday visitors at
the Milton Bailey home.
