Mrs. Chas. McFall left for Spokane
Sunday to visit her daughter-in-law,
Mrs. Jack McFall and small grandson.
Jack McFall is in the air corps in
England.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Connell, Ora
Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Isom,
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith and the
Mike Hinkleys were Hermiston visi­
tors Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs, Lewis Morrissey are
the parents of a small daughter born
Tuesday, the 11th. They are living
at the Minnick house and her sister is
caring for the two daughters at home.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Potts have been
visiting in this neighborhood and they
and Jerry White left for Astoria
where they have employment.
Mrs. Winifred Seamen and son
Tommy left for her home at Sandy
after spending a few days with her
mother. Mrs. Emma Steward.
Wayne Caldwell has recently been
transferred from Oklahoma to Dans­
ville, R. I., and now through to Port­
land and on to an unknown destina­
tion. he notified his parents Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Caldwell.
Mrs. Elmer Rucker underwent an
operation in Pendleton Thursday.
Roy Van Cleve of Kennewick ar­
rived Thursday to visit her daughter,
Mrs. Milton Bailey and family.
Mr. and Mrs. James Arnberg of
Hermiston were Irrigon visitors Sun­
day.
Mrs. Frank French. Mrs. Martha
Ferrell and Mrs. Ethel Steagall were
Hermiston visitors Thursday as were
also Jerry White and Avery Shoun.
Harry Cooper left for Portland Sat­
urday to be re-examined for the army.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Grider went
to Portland Wednesday with a load of
potatoes.
Sinke Moore bought a home in The
Dalles. He took a load of household
goods to The Dalles Monday.
Donald Miller. S. 2/c radio man.
Pfc. Leslie Rucker is home from the
air corps and all of the family and
also a brother, Duane Lathrop of
Ordnance are here. She is getting
along nicely.
Mrs. Roy Minnkk and daughter
Luella returned from Conroy where
Mr. Minnick is employed.
Grandma Graybeal is quite ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Graybeal are in
the mountains resting and fishing.
The Misses Carrie and Alice Riley
left for Olympia where Miss Carrie
has a school. They have been visiting
the K. Frasers and the James Hender­
sons.

Mrs. Katharine Sherlock spent a
few days last week in Pendleton.
Mrs. F. S. Baker- of The Dalles
spent Saturday and Sunday here vis­
iting her husband and daughter, Mrs.
Dean Newgard.
Mrs. Melvin Eller and Raymond
Olney spent Saturday and Sunday in
Walla Walla visiting her parents and
family. Her brother, Albert Presnell
who is on a furlough from the army,
was also in Walla Walla. Her niece.
Beverly Presnell, returned with her
to spend a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. George Butterwood
and Mrs. Butterwood’s sister and
brother, who are visiting here, and
Mrs. M. McKenzie spent Tuesday in
Pendleton.
Arzie Smith left Tuesday for Spo­
kane where he will visit for a couple
of days. Mrs. Smith and children
will return with him after spending a
week in Spokane.
Mrs. Minnie McMartin received an­
nouncement of a 7 pound 8 ounce ba­
by boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Shaw in Portland. Mr. E. Shaw is in
the navy overseas.
M. Martin spent Saturday in Pen­
dleton visiting his wife, who has been
visiting her parents, and returned
Monday.
Jack Mann left Sunday for the val­
ley where he will enjoy a vacation
from his duties here.
Mrs. Frank Presnell and daughter
Maxine of Pasco came Tuesday to
spend until Sunday at the M. B. Eller
home. Mr. Presnell brought them
down.
Miss Betty Mustard is here spend­
ing a week’s vacation at the home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mus­
tard from her duties as student nurse
at Pendleton.
P. M. 2/c Vane Hiatt, stationed at
Pasco, spent the week end here with
his wife and his parents.
Ed. Kendell of Seattle spent the
week end here.
Mrs. John Mustard took her two
grandchildren Davy and Sharon Lav­
ender to their home in Longview af­
ter spending two weeks here.
Mr. and Mrs. John Mustard. Mr.
and Mrs. Oliver McNabb and son Jon
spent Wednesday evening in Athena
visiting Mrs. Mustard’s sister and
family.
Mrs. Tom Tucker accompanied her
sister-in-law, Mrs. Lloyd Moore to
Goldendale for a few days.

pear and answer said complaint or
otherwise plead thereto within said
time, the plaintiff, for want thereof,
will apply to the court for the relief
prayed for in his said complaint, to-
wit:
For a decree herein determining
that the defendants, and each of them,
have no right, title, interest, lien or
estate in or to the following described
premises, to-wit: The East 15 feet
of Lot 15, and all of Lot 16 in Block
6 in the original Town, now City, of
Hermiston, as located in the North­
west Quarter of the Southwest Quar­
ter of Section 11, Township 4 North,
Range 28 E. W. M. in Umatilla Coun­
ty, State of Oregon, together with all
the appurtenances thereunto belong-
ing. and quieting and confirming in
the plaintiff the fee simple title in
and to all of said real property, and
Hermiston, Oregon
forever estopping the defendants, and
each of them, from setting up or
claiming any right, title, interest, lien
or estate thereto, and for such other
relief as to the court appears proper
in the premises.
This summons is published pursu­
ant to an order of Honorable C. L.
Sweek, Judge of the above entitled
court made and entered herein on the
27th day of June. 1944, and the date
of the first publication of this sum­
mons is June 29th, 1944.
