Mr. and Mrs. Ben Fix have received
word from their son. Corp. Lloyd L.
Fix, stationed at Camp Shelby, Miss.,
that he is in the hospital with acute
sinus. Corp. Fix writes that he has
been quite ill during recent weeks.
Miss Hope Reynolds received med
ical attention at the Hermiston gen
eral hospital Sunday before being tak
en to a specialist in Walla Walla. Miss
Reynolds was thrown from a horse.
Mrs. Hazel Carson has been inform
ed that her son. Pfc. Don Baehne, was
recently given a presidential citation
unit ribbon for achievement in the
combat zone. Pfc. Baehne’s “home
base” is on the Hawaiian Islands but
he has been in several combat zones
in recent months. He recently met
Glenn Elwood, son of Mr. and Mrs. L.
E. Elwood, and the boys had quite a
visit. Baehne recently received a se
verely sprained wrist.
