hospital, turned patient herself this
week suffering from a bad cold.
The Oregon Women’s Ambulance
Corps recently purchased a hundred
dollar war bond toward helping the
Fourth War Bond drive.
Mrs. Ray Farnsworth, sister of
Mrs. Margaret Cronk, arrived Mon­
day from Portland and is spending
the week in Hermiston.
The Townsend club will meet the
last Tuesday of each month instead of
the fourth Tuesday and the meeting
will be at the U.S.O. The public is
invited to all the meetings.
Dr. J. P. Stewart, eyesight special­
ist of Pendleton, will be at the Her­
miston Hotel Wednesday. February

Mrs. L. F. Fleming of Olympia,
Wash., arrived in Hermiston recently
to make an indefinite visit with her
mother, Mrs. W. C. Morehouse, while
her husband. Sgt. Lester Fleming, is
on maneuvers in Louisiana.
Corporal and Mrs. Chester Stuart
arrived here this week to spend a 15-
day furlough with his parents. Rev.
and Mrs. J. W. Stuart. Cpl. Stuart,
who has been in the service about 14
months, is stationed at Camp Culver,
near Sacramento, with the Signal
Corps as a radio operator technician.
Mrs. Stuart is a Sacramento girl and
is enjoying her first visit to Hermis­
ton. Cpl. Stuart must report back to
Camp Culver by February 26.
