payment on or before December 15,
unless they complied with this re
quirement on the September 15 date
that applied to most other persons,
explains Robert E. Hannegan, Com
missioner of Internal Revenue. Farm
ers and others making their first re
port this time will receive no declara
tion forms but must ask for them if
they do not still have the forms mailed
them in August.
Because of the difficulty farmers
have in estimating their tax, they
have been given until December 15 to
file their declarations, whereas oth

ers were required to file September
15. Farmers are also given greater
leeway in estimating and are not sub
ject to penalty unless they underesti
mate their tax by more than 33 and
one-third per cent.

d. Any person who was required to
file an income tax return for 1942
and who expects his wages in 1943 to
be less than in 1942.

Cassidy, is visiting here this week
from Portland at the Cassidy and
Christley homes.
Lester Wilcox, who is attending
school at Corvallis, was home for the
holiday accompanied by his cousin,
Miss Jean Wilcox of Oakland, Ore
gon. They left Wednesday morning
on the return trip.
