moved and the scales pushed off
with a toothpick where they are not
so many. Then gently wash the
fronds with soapsuds made from a
strong laundry soap.
Watch for
scales and get rid of them as they

Announcement of the 1942 farm
production campaign by Secretary of
Agriculture Claude R. Wickard last
week calls for participation of every
farmer in Umatilla county in adjust
ing farm production to U. S. needs
for national defense and the needs of
nations abroad resisting aggression,
local defense board officials said this
week.
