RAINS THREATEN
PENDLETON SHOW
The weather forecast for the
week-end indicates cloudy skies with
occasional showers. This in turn
forecasts wet grounds for the annual
Pendleton Roundup now in session.
However, the show has experienced
rains in former years and has never
been seriously affected. The huge
crowds forget the weather in order
not to miss any part of the show.

A runaway truck caused consider
able damage last Friday night when
it crashed into the front of Connor’s
Cash Store, breaking four large plate
glass windows. The machine, driven
by Jewell Bradley, jumped the curb
and struck the building with quite an
impact.
Bradley appeared before Justice
of the Peace E. P. Dodd the next day
and was fined $5 0 and sentenced to
six months in jail which was sus-
pended. His driver’s license was also
revoked for one year. The driver
agreed to pay all damages.
