Pal Nights
Ladies of the Church of Christ
women’s council entertained the wom­
en’s groups of the other churches of
Hermiston at the home of Mrs. Jessie
Hineline Wednesday. The affair be­
gan in the morning at 10:00 and a
covered dish dinner was served at
noon.
H. R. Hartley returned home F ri­
day from an extended trip into east­
ern states. The main object of the
trip was to take delivery of a Ford
sedan delivery truck for his milk
route. En route he visited at Spring
Hill, Kansas, his old home and also
spent a week with relatives in Ohio.
Announcements have been received
here of the birth of a daughter, Nan­
cy Anne, to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Neary of Wilder, Idaho. The father
is a son of James Neary of Hermis­
ton and the mother was formerly
Elizabeth Straw. Both are graduates
of Hermiston high school.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Henderson and
daughter Linda Rae stopped here fox
a short time Wednesday noon to visit
with his mother, Mrs. Georgia Hen­
derson. Mr. Henderson, who has
been with the extension service at
Moro, has received an assistantship
in plant breeding at Cornell Univer­
sity, Ithaca, N. Y., and will be locat­
ed there in the future.
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Shaw spent
from Thursday till Saturday of last
week in Portland attending a meet­
ing of the Oregon Grange Wholesale
managers’ meeting. Mr. Shaw also
went on business for the Inland Co­
operative. While there they stopped
to see their son Asa, and Bob Pier­
son, who are with the army now sta­
tioned at Portland.
Mrs. Georgia Henderson spent
Sunday and Monday at Moro visiting
her sen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Henderson and daughter Linda Rae.
John Izatt, who is employed with
the survey crew at the munitions de­
pot and who has been staying with
Mrs. N. W. Bloom, left Saturday for
Boise where he will get his wife and
baby daughter. They will return
home immediately and make their
residence at Stanfield where they
have found a vacant house.
