of LaGrande, during the duration of
the 4-H summer school in Corvallis.
Miss Helen Ralph was hostess
Tuesday night at a wedding shower
for Miss Margie Estle whose mar­
riage to Harold Keller took place
Wednesday.
Mrs. A. M. Brock returned home
Sunday after spending a week in
Walla Walla visiting at the home of
her son, R. E. Brock. She also at­
tended the Seventh Day Adventist
camp meeting at College Place.
Mrs. D. M. Dufur was the honor
guest Tuesday night at a surprise
party given by Mrs. G. J. Casper on
the Casper lawn. Approximately 35
guests were present.
Miss Delpha Berryman of Philo­
math spent some time last week at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. C.
Swarner. She was en route to Pen­
dleton where she will act as superin­
tendent of parks during the summer
months.
Lawrence Swarner, son of Mr. and
Mrs. A. C. Swarner, spent from Sat­
urday to Wednesday in Hermiston
visiting relatives. He has spent the
past term attending Oregon State
college but is still bothered by his
ailment as a result of an accident
suffered some time ago in Alaska.
He will enter a Portland hospital for
observation this week.
Miss Marjean Chisholm came Sat­
urday to visit a t the home of Mr. and
Mrs. .H arry Andrews. She resides
in Walla Walla, Wn.
John Bubeck of lower Willow
creek was in Hermiston on business

Beach, Cal.
Mrs. R. Alexander, who has spent
the past several months at the
home of her daughter Mr. and Mrs.
E. P. Dodd, left Sunday to spend the
summer months with another daugh­
ter, Mrs. Bertha A. Collins of Port­
land.
Ben O’Conner returned Tuesday
from a two-day trip to St. Helens and
Portland. He was accompanied by his
nieces who had spent the past few
weeks visiting here. While in P ort­
land he attended a fight card and
made arrangements for several fight­
ers on the July 4th card here.
